Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. 😀

Once again, I’m sharing from my just started WIP…Gina’s still healing from divorce. Although she gets along with her ex, it’s his best friend, Marcus, that’s the last person she’d want to see on her night out at the local BDSM club, but that’s exactly who she ran into. Last Week Marcus noticed Gina and basically called her a liar, nice. This week. I’ve skipped nothing.

“Always the gentlemen.” This had to be a new record. In less than a minute, he had her loathing herself. It didn’t matter he was working on incorrect data. “Hope not to see you again.” She waved as she turned to go.

“Wait.”

She kept moving.

His hand came down on her shoulder and pulled her around. “I said wait.”

Wait for what? I think I know, lol. Hope you’ll come back and find out and I hope you enjoyed my eight today. Poor Gina, she’s still looking for release. Maybe next week, maybe. 😉 Here’s a tweet, if you want to share.

Thank you so much for visiting me, it means a lot to me that you took the time to visit my little place on the web. Don’t forget to check out the other Weekend Warriors, the Snippet Sunday Facebook Groupand Saturday Spankings too.

Flash Fiction #43 A Commitment

Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.

June 14, 2013

Stockvault

“The place on Cedar Street closed?” Tad’s eyebrows raised and he tilted his head.

“A coffee house opened on Cherry a while back. It’s pretty good.”

Candy’s childhood crush was even cuter than she remembered. The way he listened had her convinced, he was just as pleased to see her. Excitement danced across her skin. Her body shook and her robe slipped, revealing her shoulder.

He reached out and caressed the tattoo now peeking out. “When did you get this?”

“Slowly over the last year.”

“That’s a commitment.” He pulled her robe down a smidge. “How far does it go?”

Weekend Writing Warriors – Who’s Lying Now

Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. 😀

Once again, I’m sharing from my just started WIP. Last Week I introduced you to Gina She’s still healing from divorce. Although she gets along with her ex, it’s his best friend, Marcus, that’s the last person she’d want to see on her night out at the local BDSM club, but that’s exactly who she ran into. The first line is his.

“I’m not surprised you’ve come to the spanking benches. What have you done now?”

“Funny. I’d say it’s good to see you, but I’m not one to lie.”

“Really?” He shifted, squaring his hips in her direction,  clasping his wrists in front of him. The paddle, still held in his hand, concealed his leather covered cock. “I haven’t observed that to be true.”

Ouch. Hope you enjoyed my eight today. Poor Gina, she’s still looking for release too. Maybe next week. Here’s a tweet, if you want to share.

ROW80 Check-in #64 Going for it

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

From plot bunny to first, second, third… draft we toil over our manuscripts. It takes a whole heap of courage to come back day after day and write your heart out and a ton of commitment to edit it.

Then, there comes a time when you’re no longer helping your MS. Don’t stop. Bring in the big guns. Sure, sending your baby to be critiqued is nerve-racking, but the end result will be a cleaner manuscript. *happy place*

Courage, commitment, and a big dash of nerves isn’t enough however. At some point, it will be time to hit send. This is usually when I want to vomit, lol. I’m not sure how I got brave enough to go for it this week, but there was certainly a feeling of fearlessness in the act. I may have shut my eyes when I bishop's weedclicked send.

Are you one of the brave? Have you hit send lately or are you planning to hit send soon? Tell us how you do it. What gets you to push send?

The Goals – week-9 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters – done.
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting – done. Although I wish I could do away with my evil day job, unless it’s pay more and more poppiesday, I’m very thankful for its flexibility. Thursday I was able to spend almost the whole day on my WIP. After reading the notes from my brilliant beta, I cut all kinds of darlings. It was painful, but I sure do like the result. The MS moves much faster now. Whee!! 🙂 I hit send and moved on to my new WIP, adding 1k.
    • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep, and my calorie limit – done! I got in three workouts and kept to all my other goals here.
    • Weekly Nia study (i.e. studying the song/movement structure) – not done. WEEK 10 PRIORITY
    • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities – done. I worked on several reports, paid several bills, and attended a parent meeting.
    • Organize something in the house each week – not done. WEEK 10 PRIORITYPeony
    • Spend time in the Garden – done. It was a  beautiful week here and I spent most of it inside editing, but by Friday, the day after hitting send, I spent several hours in the garden and yesterday too. Lots more weeding to do, but I’m making progress.

Weekend Writing Warriors – Looking for Release

Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. I’m giving you something brand new today. I don’t have a working title yet or a logline, but picture a woman, her name is Gina. She’s still healing from divorce. Although she gets along with her ex, it’s his best friend, Marcus, that’s the last person she’d want to see on her night out.

Gina’s come to Club Voyage, the local BDSM club where she’s been a member for years. After a hard week, one she’s not proud of, she’s looking for release.

A loud whack sounded behind her and she whipped around. A dom stood near the wall of paddles and floggers. He smacked a wooden paddle against his hand, placed it back on the hook, and examined another. She couldn’t see his face, but attraction was instant. The way he examined each paddle before smacking his hand had her body tingling. What would it be like to be on the receiving end of a spanking made with such care? He took a step back, a wide paddle in his hand, and turned.

Marcus.

Her week just wasn’t going to get any better.

Hope you enjoyed my eight today, but Gina’s still looking for release. Poor Gina. Would you like to know more about Gina and Marcus? Please consider tweeting this. 🙂

ROW80 Check-in #63 Don’t Stop Now

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

I used to think getting started was the real hard part. The truth is, it’s all hard. Finding the time to write while you juggle kids and work is hard. Fighting writers block and getting the first draft down is hard. Editing is hard. Analyzing your story and fixing what’s not working is hard. Knowing when to keep working or when to just hit send is hard.

It’s all hard, but that’s partly why I love it.

Each time I pass another hurdle, I feel a little bit of accomplishment and lately it’s been just enough to get me to start the next hard part. Today, I’m going to show up for another hard part. I’m going to take this tiny piece of perspective, show up, and work through it.

What gets you past the hard parts?

The Goals – week-8 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters – done.Iris
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting – done. I wrote or edited everyday, adding 1k and sent the MS to my CP. She’s already gotten it back to me. I’ve only reviewed her notes, but I can tell you my MS is about to get so much better. I’m a lucky girl. Love that CP of mine. Wahoo!! I also went through two of her short stories.
    • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep, and my calorie limit – done! I got in three workouts and kept to all my other goals here.
    • Weekly Nia study (i.e. studying the song/movement structure) – not done. WEEK 9 PRIORITY
    • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities – done. I worked on several reports and made one deposit.
    • Organize something in the house each week – not done. WEEK 9 PRIORITY
    • Spend time in the Garden – done. Sunday I weeded the veggie garden and start on the perennial garden. It then rained the rest of the week. There was a short window yesterday of no rain, but that’s when I went to support my niece in the state volleyball championship. She did great and I blocked my head twice from getting hit. Good times, lol.

Weekend Writing Warriors – No More Surprises

Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. This week I’m sharing 8 more from my WIP, In the Blind. I hope you enjoy.

In the Blind (working title), and you can see the past posts from this WIP here. The Logline: When a head hunter finds her dream lover in a night of pitch black unrestrained passion, she fears she’ll never find him again. Fate steps in and throws the two together, but they might never discover the truth and stay in the blind.

Over the past many weeks I’ve shared Jane’s experience at Club Blind and her business opportunity that put her back in touch with Rob after they met last month. Rob isn’t keen on Jane’s job opportunity. It’s for the company his ex-wife works for. Last Post Rob explained why he kept his ring on after the divorce. He wasn’t missing his wife. He needed to forgive himself for his part in the failed promise. This week, I’ve skipped a few paragraphs. Rob finally told Jane about Gina working at Keller’s AND he’s asked her out. Go Rob. The first line is his.

“So, you’re okay with this?”

“It’s a lot to take in, but I still think you’re the best candidate for Keller. If you’re sure, then I am too. Besides, my business could really use the connection.”

“Alright, it’s settled. Let’s go charm Keller, and then I’ll take you out.”

“No more surprises, right?” she said with her eye brows raised.

“I’ve got none left in my pocket, should I take a peek in yours?”

Oh! Wish I could share Jane’s response. No more surprises, right? <If you want, you can Tweet That> Jane needs to direct that question at herself. But I’ll save that for later.

Hope you enjoyed my eight today. Thank you so much for visiting me, it means a lot to me that you took the time to visit my little place on the web. Don’t forget to check out the other Weekend Warriorsand Saturday Spankings too.

ROW80 Check-in #62 Challenges and Rewards

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

My mini challenge continued this week. I’m still behind, but I typed two lovely words. The End! 😀 I’ve also done a couple read throughs and am now digging into the hard part of my pre-CP edit ritual.

There are only four chapters in this little story and each time I finish a around of edits on one, I’m getting outside to spend time in my garden. It’s such a good reward. I love getting my hands dirty, pulling the junk, trimming away last years branches, and making way for the beautiful things to come. Gardening is a nurturing activity, one that requires patients and persistence. Not unlike my writing. In the end, let’s hope their both sublime.

Are you rewarding yourself with anything this weekend? What are your favorite kind of rewards? Mine is usually spa treatments. I might need a massage after this weekend, lol.

The Goals – week-7 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters – done.
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting – done. I wrote or edited everyday, adding 3k and typed THE END!! Yesterday, I utilized the find feature over and over and over. I hope to have the WIP sent to my CP by the end of the day Monday.
    • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep, and my calorie limit – not done. I got in one workout, destroyed the calorie limit, but I got plenty of water. WEEK 8 PRIORITY
    • Weekly Nia study (i.e. studying the song/movement structure) – not done. WEEK 8 PRIORITY
    • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities – done. I finished several deposits and paid several bills.
    • Organize something in the house each week – done. Nothing too exciting, just readied the house for company.
    • Spend time in the Garden – done. The overnight frosts are usually done by this time in Michigan. So, this is my big gardening weekend of the year.  The weeds come out and annuals go in. I finished the front of the house yesterday. So pretty. Today, I’ll tackle the veggie garden and start on the perennial garden and my roses have some training to do. Which means I better get another chapter edited asap. 😀

Okay. okay. I give, lol. I’ll give you a couple more weeks of In the Blind, but then you’re cut off, until it’s published. 🙂

It’s for the company his ex-wife works for and Jane doesn’t know that, yet.  Last Post Rob decided he needed to tell Jane about his wife. He doesn’t want to lose Jane before he takes her out for the first time. In this week’s post, I’ve skipped two sentences. Rob mentioned his old wedding ring and Jane stated she remembered it from when they first met.

She looked down at his naked finger.

“You noticed?” A flash of joy lit him, he chuckled and took hold of her hands. “Wearing that ring had nothing to do with my ex.” He shook his head and pulled her a little closer. “That ring represented my commitment, a commitment I had to let go.” He captured her sight once more. “I can’t explain it, but keeping it on reminded me of the mistakes I made, mistakes I never want to make again.”

Healing and learning from a lost love, he’s pretty awesome. Jane better say yes if he gets around to asking her out, but Rob has more to share. Will his honesty bring her closer or scare her away? <If you want, you can Tweet That>

Hope you enjoyed my eight today. Thank you so much for visiting me, it means a lot to me that you took the time to visit my little place on the web. Don’t forget to check out the other Weekend Warriorsand Saturday Spankings too.

ROW80 Check-in #61 May brings Words and Flowers

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

Last week I took on a challenge, to write and polish a 10k novelette by the middle of June. Of course, this is when the evil day job decides to roar, but I was on a deadline, self-imposed, but a deadline. A decision needed to be made. I could either walk away from my challenge or I could postpone other items on my to-do list.

I decided to postpone. I wrote everyday.

Everyday. 😀

The novelette isn’t done yet, and my week-6 results might be kind of sad, but I have less than 2k to go before I start my first read through. Wahoo! I need to give a shout-out to Julie Glover. She kept me going this week. Thank you, Julie. You rock.

Lilacs

The Goals – week-6 results
