Mid Week Tease! His Pain in the Ass from Taking Over, Love Projects Series #BDSM

I’m working on the 4th book in my Love Projects Series. I’ve been looking forward to writing this one for a long time. The hero, Keller, has been mentioned in every Evernight book I’ve written. I’ve got a HUGE crush on this guy. HUGE! ❤

So, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the scenes Keller’s been in before I start teasing you from the WIP.

In this scene, from Love Projects 3, Marcus has just finished a scene with Gina who was the last sub he expected to scene with. During after care, Keller stops by to start laying some ground work. He knows just what to say. Marcus doesn’t know it yet but everything he knows about Gina is about to get turned upside down. Starting now. ❤

At any moment he knew she could break from the spell and go back to being a pain in the ass. Her silky hair blanketed his fingers. He cursed himself for wanting to explore her further. She had no need for him. It was just one scene and nothing more. He reminded himself he didn’t know the alluring woman at his feet. At one time, he thought he knew everything. Those were the days he envied his best friend. For years, he believed Rob was a lucky bastard. That was until this vixen had cheated on her husband and broken Rob’s heart. She relaxed against him, leaning her head back and allowing him the space to caress her cheek. He always imagined her skin to be soft, but nothing compared to its actual silken texture.

“How are you doing tonight, Marcus?”

He looked up and found Keller, the owner of the BDSM club and his new boss at Voyage Industries. “Pretty good.”

“Mind if I sit?”

“Not at all. I think she’s going to be out for a bit.”

“I think you’re right. I haven’t seen her orgasm in the club in a long time. It’s good to see her finally let go.”

“Sure.” But he’d prefer to see his buddy moving on with his life than this bundle of trouble.

“She’s taken on a lot over the last couple of months.”

“I guess.” He figured the divorce couldn’t have been easy for either of them. “The divorce is final now.”

“Yes, I think they both did well in keeping it simple and clean. I hope Gina can relax a little, now that she has one less demand on her time. I’m certain it’s all been too much for her.”

Keller was one of the smartest men Marcus knew, but he couldn’t help looking at him like the man had two heads. Clearly, Keller knew something about Gina that he didn’t. Marcus caressed her face and wondered what she wasn’t sharing and what, if anything, it had to do with her not wanting pleasure with her punishment tonight. One thing was for certain, Keller wasn’t going to spill. The man was known for dropping just enough information to pique your interest and nothing more. He and Rob must have been drinking the same Kool-Aid. Rob had been dropping hints that he thought that Marcus was the right man for Gina, but he wasn’t listening. Whatever Gina wasn’t sharing, he doubted it would change his opinion of her.

Mid Week Tease! Playing with the Dom from Taking Courage, Love Projects Series #BDSM

So, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the scenes he’s been in before I start teasing you from the WIP.

In this scene (a continuation from my last tease), from Love Projects 2, it’s Janna’s first day and Keller is already deep into his match-making plans. She’s in Keller’s office and he’s re-introduced her to Simon, the Dom she can’t stop thinking about. There’s only one giant problem. She’s certain Simon must despise her for how she handled their first scene. Let’s see if she can turn things around. ❤

“No one’s in the mood to laugh. Got it.” Keller stepped in-between them. “I was hoping you two could start over. Hear me out?” After a bit of silence he added, “Have a seat.”

Janna sat first, and then Simon joined her in the other guest chair.

“Simon’s the Director of one of our application development departments, and he’s been begging me for a Project Manager of his own. We have a few, but they’re spread rather thin.”

“Our next project is scheduled for scope approval by the board Wednesday night. The documents aren’t complete yet, but I don’t want to wait another month for approval,” said Simon.

“I can help you with that. Scope documents are my specialty.” She sat up straighter in her chair.

“Fine, you can be my Project Manager. But you better get up to speed fast.” Simon’s eyes shot daggers of disgust.

“Lovely.” Only her eyes turned to Keller. “I assume my company laptop is already set up and my email is live?”

“Of course, it’s all in your office. Anne will take you there.”

“Excellent.” She turned her glare to Simon. “Send me everything you have so far. I’ll review the documents while you schedule a meeting at the end of the day, for the top level team members only.”

His anger seemed to seize at her direct order. Having some control over this Dom was going to be fun.

So, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the scenes he’s been in before I start teasing you from the WIP.

In this scene, from Love Projects 2, it’s Janna’s first day and Keller is already deep into his match-making plans. She’s just entered Keller’s office and he’s about to re-introduce her to Simon, the Dom she can’t stop thinking about. There’s only one giant problem. She’s certain he must despise her for how she handled their first scene. It’s sink or swim time. ❤

“Come on in and take a seat,” Keller said.

She followed him into a vast office. No books lined the walls, although the panels all had grooves, like maybe they could be turned. Maybe they opened into secret passages. She made a mental note to ask Anne. Any night, but Friday.

“Thanks again for taking a chance on me.”

“Nonsense, you have an impressive record. The chance was yours to take, and I’m glad you did, but you might want to save the thanks until you hear more about your first project.” He looked at something behind her. “Yes, Simon, right on cue.”

Shit. What was Keller up to? She didn’t want to turn around, didn’t want to see the loathing in his eyes.

“What did you want, Keller? I have a mess on my hands today,” Simon said.

“Yes, I know the extent of the situation, and I have just the thing here to help. Simon Young, I’d like you to meet your new Project Manager, Janna Hall.”

Double shit. Janna should have known this whole situation was too good to be true. Good thing she hadn’t unpacked much. She’d never been fired on the first day before. Disappointment was a mean trick, and defiance took hold. Where was her mantra for the day? With her chin up, she turned to face him.

So, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the scenes he’s been in before I start teasing you from the WIP.

In this scene, Jake is reeling from Keller’s match-making. Skills Keller refuses to acknowledge. Jake’s buddy Simon is having a little too much fun with this news. The three of them are in Keller’s office.

“What did I do?” Keller threw his hands in the air, but the smirk on his face gave him away.

“Shit, I’m sorry, Jake.” Simon turned his attention back to Keller. “Who did you select for our boy here?”

“You stay out of this. I thought we stood together on standing alone.” Jake said.

“Sorry, I got caught in the action. Now, don’t leave me hangin’. Who is it?”

“Gees, it’s Lydia, okay? And you know what?” Jake turned his attention to Keller and pointed to Simon. “Do me a favor. Pick on him next.”

“I keep telling you, I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Keller shook his head.

“Quiet, little Lydia?” Simon said.

Keller stepped in front of Jake, stopping him from advancing on Simon. Simon scurried out of his chair, smartly putting good distance between him and the caged beast Jake had no desire to contain.

“I’ve got towels set out for you.” Keller pointed to the bathroom. “Go on, take a cold shower and calm yourself. I’ll have Anne order you two some lunch.”

“Thanks, Keller, I want to strangle you, but thanks.”

“Hey, don’t mention it. Just remember to invite me to the collaring ceremony.”

Book Description:

I’m back to working on the 4th book in my Love Projects Series. I’ve been looking forward to writing this one for a long time. The hero has been mentioned in every Evernight book I’ve written. I’ve got a HUGE crush on this guy. HUGE! ❤

So, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the scenes he’s been in before I start teasing you from the WIP.

Here’s a bit from the opening scene in Taking Chances, Love Projects Book 1.

“I’d like you to head the team on this.” Keller inclined his head toward Jake. “Pick one of the technical writers from this table, lock yourselves in a room, and get it done. I want a report tomorrow, my office, ten o’clock.” He stomped from the room and took another opportunity to sneer at each of them.

The room, without Keller’s presence, grew eerily quiet.

All attention turned to Jake. He towered over them as they waited for the chosen partner to be selected. Whispers bubbled up around her.

A door slammed down the hall, probably Keller letting off some steam. She didn’t want to think about Keller. She desperately wanted to fill her mind with one idea, that she could be the technical writer Jake chose. He could choose her.

She blocked out her surroundings, peeled back her protective layer and allowed herself to feel. She bit her lower lip and sucked it into her mouth. She could be locked in a room with Jake. Her mouth dried, and her heart pounded. She took another look at Jake and drank in his dark features and the muscles she imagined hidden under his blue collared shirt. A fantasy, starring the infamous Jake, filled her imagination.

I’ve gone back to the beginning. Let’s see what happens the moments before Liz propositions the man she’s just met. Oh boy. But that’s right. Liz’s girlfriends are helping her go after what she really needs.

Liz covered her mouth. “Emily, you can’t say things like that right when I take a sip.”

“What?” Emily looked back and forth between Liz and Sherri and pushed the tulle from her eyes. “You can’t keep your eyes off him.”

“Emily’s right.” Sherri patted Liz’s hand. “You should go for it. He’s frickin’ hot.”

“He really is.” A weight lifted from Liz’s chest. It might be Emily’s bachelorette party but they all knew the real purpose for the evening. Liz needed to get laid. She’d had a hell of a year and, if she didn’t fight her way through it, she’d have nothing but shittier times ahead. She checked over her shoulder and found his stool empty. “Fuck. Where did he go?” She searched the bar.

“Relax, vixen. He went to the bathroom.” Sherri shook her head. “You’ve got it bad.”

“I do.” She rubbed her palms on her jeans. “My hands are sweating. What’s wrong with me? I feel like I’m in high school.” When he’d leaned in to answer her question, her gaze locked on his. Between his enticing blues eyes, the strong line of his jaw, and his alluring scent, she couldn’t think of anything else at the moment. “Gosh, I need this.”

“Go for it,” her girlfriends said together.

“What if this is a bad idea?” She licked her lips and turned to check on the bathroom.

“We’ve got a plan, remember?” Sherri said.

“That’s right.” Emily rubbed her hands together. “We’ve all got our parts down. We’ll help you question him. If he passes our tests, the security at your place will handle the rest. You’ve got this. Now, go get yourself a hot piece of ass.”

“I’m going to do this.” Liz stood and swung her purse over her shoulder. “I’m taking control of my life.”

“Yes, you are.” Sherri smacked the table.

Liz tucked her hair behind her ear and headed to the bathroom. She could do this. She could proposition a man.

“Shake what your momma gave you,” Emily hollered.

Liz stopped and checked on her girlfriends. They were both beaming at her. She shook her head and rolled her shoulders. Knowing they had her back had gotten her through the worst year of her life. At least Emily wasn’t going to have any problem pulling off her role as the drunken girlfriend.

She stopped at the door to the men’s bathroom and wiped her palms on her jeans. It was now or never. Shoving the door open, she stepped inside.

The second they were inside his apartment, his phone buzzed. “It’s a text from Sam.” He held the phone up for her.

They’re in the stairwell.

Cold dread washed over her. She couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t move.

“You need to get in my closet.” The solid even tone of his voice shook her from her panic.

“You want me to hide?”

“Yes, it’s right back here behind the bathroom.” He pulled her around the corner. A worn punching bag hung from the ceiling. “Get inside and don’t make a sound.” He opened the closet door. “I don’t care what you hear. Shut your eyes. I’ll come get you when it’s over. Do you hear me?”

“Okay.” Leaving it all to Aidan sounded like a good plan, but she hated getting separated from him and didn’t like him handling the thugs alone.

He grabbed her shoulders and squeezed. “You stay alive by not coming out.”

“Okay, I get it.” She caressed his cheek. “You too. Aidan, you need to stay alive.”

He hauled her close and claimed her mouth. His tongue brushed across her lower lip and then he pulled back. “Now get inside.”

She climbed in and he pushed the door closed. Between the slats she could see a sliver of the room and she watched him walk away. Her leg muscles were already cramping. A quick change in position allowed her to cross her legs. The different angle positioned her to see more of the room through the gaps. She didn’t want to get too close to the door though. Being seen wasn’t an option. She couldn’t have the wrong man spotting her. The last thing she wanted was to make it harder on Aidan.

Seconds ticked by and only silence greeted her. She couldn’t even hear Aidan in the room. An eerie suspicion that something was watching her had her squeezing her eyes shut. A sharp metallic tang drifted to her and her stomach rolled. As slow as she could, she took a shallow breath.

Then there was a knock on the door.

I believed his lies.” She looked at him, tears filling her eyes. He wished he could wipe it all away, make all her pain disappear.

“You had no reason not to believe him. You’re a beautiful woman worth loving. It should have been true.” He wanted to pick her up and cradle her in his arms, but he knew it wasn’t what she needed. Her strength, even now with her world crumbling around her, was on full display.

I’ve skipped to a different point in the story. What Liz doesn’t know about Aidan is slowly eating her alive and she’s just learned about another woman in his life.

In this snippet, the assassins have finished a meeting concerning Liz’s situation and now an interrogation needs to take place. Aidan has pulled Liz into their back room where only his brother Gavin remains.

She stepped through the doorway to find Aidan and Gavin watching each other. “Everything okay?”

“We’re fine,” Aidan said.

“What’s back here?” A round table sat in the middle of the space. “The room seems like it’s bigger from the outside.”

“The space is split in two. You should show her the other room, Aidan.”

“I think it’s time for you to go.” He pushed his brother out into the restaurant. “We’ll travel on our own from now on.”

“Call me after you go through her place.”

“Fine. Out.” Aidan closed the door behind Gavin.

“Was that Clair woman in here?” Liz crossed her arms over her chest.

“She’s just a colleague. No one you need to be concerned about.”

She turned from him and took a deep breath. “Sorry.” She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt the ugly pangs of jealousy, but the unreasonable emotion was coursing through her veins.

“Pick a door.” His cold tone rattled her nerves.

She took in his stern expression and examined her options. “Okay.” There were two at the back of the room. The one on the left appeared to be an exterior door. She took the one on the right. “I’m not sure why I’m picking, but let’s see what’s in here.”

The room opened to a small sink, a set of lockers, and a bench. Then she noticed the rings secured to different positions on the wall. She turned around and caught sight of a different looking bench in the opposite corner and a large wooden cross she thought was called a St. Andrew’s Cross.

“What is this room?” She hoped it was simply a private dungeon for dominance and submission. That was something she could understand, something she craved, but she suspected it was used for other purposes too.

“We use it for various things.” What little noise she could hear from the restaurant snuffed out when he closed the door behind him. He stalked toward her with his dark gaze daring her to escape.

“Have you brought Clair back here?”

“She has nothing to do with this.”

“I don’t believe you.”

“Gavin shouldn’t have mentioned her.” He shook his head.

“What do you intend to use it for tonight?” She shifted back a couple steps until her back hit the wall. A gasp pushed past her lips.

“I could never hurt you.” He eliminated the space between them.

She swung for his face, but he blocked it. Then he seized the top edge of the blanket and pulled. She stumbled into him and he wrapped his arms around her. “Let me go.” She stomped on his foot and he released her. She made it back to the front door before he grabbed her again.
