Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. Today, I’m sharing from my debut, TAKING CHANCES.

Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. In Previous Weeks: Jake and Lydia entered the room where they’ll be working together and both have been fighting their desire. LAST WEEK: Jake took a cold shower in Keller’s office. Well, it started cold.  THIS WEEK: Jake returns to the conference room to find Lydia eating the lunch Keller ordered for them.

Barbecue.

Keller was trying to kill him.

Her tongue escaped her mouth to smother her finger in quick caresses. Wet fingers could do a lot of naughty things, and his mind wanted to think of them all. They had a lot of work to do this afternoon, and his thoughts needed to stay on the task in front of them. Why did she have to keep licking her fingers like that? He’d never been so envious of a finger. He crept closer to her and her wicked tongue.

Will Jake’s envy lead him to taking a chance with Lydia? <~ You can <tweet that> if you want. I can tell you it leads one of them to take a chance. Come back next week and you’ll find out.

BLURB:

She protects her heart by sticking with her fantasies, and he lives by a set of rules that excludes women who choose a vanilla lifestyle.

If Lydia and Jake hold tight to their bland lives, they’ll always yearn for love that is out of reach. But together they can find common ground, passion, and a reason to take chances. Flash Fiction #47 Hope in a Picture

Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.

September 27, 2013

Rochelle brushed her nose against her knee and snuck another look at Javier as he slept. For weeks, they’d traveled together, but unless they were about to perform, he scarcely spoke.

He may have rescued her purse from the nasty thief that first day in Paris, but she’d never forget his curt reply to her heartfelt thank you.

“Next time I’ll let them keep it. Hold onto your stuff.”

She couldn’t figure out why he’d drawn a picture of her, but there she was in black and white. The need to ask him for something, anything left her in shivers.

Hope you enjoyed my flash today!! Don’t forget to follow the link to get to the other FFF posts. Flasher Fiction Friday. Or click away on the links below.

Weekend Writing Warriors – Cold Shower … Hot Shower

Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. Today, I’m sharing from my debut, TAKING CHANCES. It’s available now at Amazon and Barnes & Noble!

Just one week left to enter by debut release giveaway. Find the Rafflecopter below.

Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. In Previous Weeks: Jake and Lydia entered the room where they’ll be working together and both have been fighting their desire. LAST WEEK: While Lydia got to work, Jake got lost in thoughts of sucking on … well, you get my point, lol.  THIS WEEK: I’ve skipped forward a few pages. Jake’s taking a shower in his boss’ office. The shower started cold, but it just wasn’t helping.

Turning the water to scalding he tugged on his cock in quick strokes. His fingers slipped over the slick head and back to the base. He imagined Lydia on her back before him, waiting patiently for his command. His cock thickened in his hand. She would stare into his eyes with intensity similar to what he’d seen today. A tug on his sack threw him right over the edge. He continued to stroke himself and wondered what her moans would sound like. Would they be throaty and low or high and squealing?

That shower didn’t work out as planned, lol. Jake certainly took matters into his own hands.  <~ You can <tweet that> if you want. This day at the office keeps getting more interesting. I wonder what will happen next? 😉

Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. LAST WEEK: Jake and Lydia entered the room where they’ll be working together and both are already fighting their desire. THIS WEEK: I’ve skipped forward a few pages. At this point, Lydia is working and Jake is working on something. 😉

He shouldn’t be thinking about taking Lydia right here on the table. Best to put a stop to it now before things spiraled out of control.

They were working at a fast pace, but they had several days ahead of them. Time to get your head back on what’s right in front of you. He looked up to find her leaning over him pointing at the screen.

“Right here, Jake, we need to add a screen print here so they don’t get confused.”

She was beautiful in her convictions, but it was the slant of her neck to her shoulder that continued to captivate his attention. The patch of skin called to him, invited him. It wouldn’t take much effort to hold her to the spot and lick the junction into his greedy mouth.

She’s talking about screen prints and he’s thinking about, well, clearly not screen prints. <~ You can <tweet that> if you want. Interesting day at the office, lol. Wonder if it will get any easier? What do you think?

ROW80 Check-in #75 Personal Research

For the I Heart Books Giveaway! click here <– Today is the last day to enter.

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

Some weeks will test you in a way that you realize you’ve never really been tested before. They make you think about what’s really important in life.

Life, it’s a journey of a million different challenges. Some are bullshit we put on ourselves and others are journeys that can deliver us right into the hands of all we’ve ever wanted.

I won’t take you through the hell a family goes through when cancer is being diagnosed, but do not resuscitate conversations are the worst. By Friday, I was a pile of blubbering goo, but then the final diagnosis arrived. The doctor’s got excited and now I know why. Within a few hours of getting the first dose of chemotherapy, my father-in-law was already feeling better. Yesterday, he actually sat up in bed and by the afternoon he sat in a chair and took a short walk. They know exactly how to fight this cancer and it’s working.

It’s fricking amazing.

Results.

Got to love results.

I’m starting to see the errors in my ways in this writing journey. Some lead me to the path of no productivity and others lead me to sweet success. It’s time to start listening to my own research.

Here’s to finding and following the proven path to productivity.

Now, for some visual inspiration …

SYTYCD may have had its season finale, but I wanted to share one of my all time favorites. It’s a haunting piece I first saw back in 2010. It’s set to Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah. Sonya Tayeh’s choreography is brilliant, as is Alex and Allison’s dancing.

The Goals – week-11 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters – done.
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting – done! I didn’t make it to my craft book this week, but I spent some productive time on the WIP. I really hope I can finish it up this week and send it out for critiques. Fingers crossed.
    • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep, and my calorie limit – not done. I wallowed in a black hole this week. It’s time to dig my way out.
    • Weekly Nia study (i.e. studying the song/movement structure) – not done.
    • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities – done. Co-treasurer pulled her weight this week and handled almost everything. 😀
    • Organize something in the house each week & clean something in the house every day – 1/2 done. I didn’t get to organizing, but I did clean something every day.
    • Spend time in the garden – not done.

I’m holding a GIVEAWAY through the end of September to celebrate my debut.

Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. LAST WEEK: Jake tried to control is already raging urges. THIS WEEK: As promised, I’m sharing their first moments in the board room. Lydia has arrived first and she’s standing by the window looking at the ravine behind the building. Now that Jake’s entered the room, she’s trying to calm her desires.

No matter how hard she tried, her mind leapt to her fantasy. She imagined her body rocking against Jake in a steady rhythm matching the sway of the trees.

A strong wind tore through the ravine and forced the trees to move. The unavoidable movement shook her from her comfort zone. Lydia was rocked by the unexpected change the sight ignited in her fantasy. The intensity changed, and she had a hard time calming her breathing.

A warm hand pressed into her back shaking her from her heated dream.

“Lydia, are you okay?”

As much as she thinks about Jake, she wasn’t prepared for the real thing. <~ You can <tweet that> if you want.

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

This week was all about getting back to work. I wanted not only to get back to my WIP, but I also wanted to get back to studying my craft. I came across a couple great posts that I had to share. The fabulous Janice Hardy was at Writers in the Storm this week with Be Your Own Book Doctor. Roni Loren posted My Ever Evolving Pre-Writing Process.

Wow.

Two posts packed with awesomesauce. Thank you, Janice and Roni.

Then, yesterday I got a look at the October WANA Con schedule. That’s going to be a great conference. Oh yeah. 🙂

Now, for some angsty visual inspiration …

This week, Amy and Robert danced a piece choreographed by Stacey Tookey. It’s about unrequited love. It’s so good. They breathed life into this hard emotion. It stole my breath away. The dancing starts about 36-seconds in.

The Goals – week-10 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters – done.
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting – done! I got back to my WIP and my craft study this week and it felt great. This goal was the perfect distraction for bad news in my personal life. My father-in-law was in the hospital all week and was diagnosed with Lymphoma on Friday. 😦
    • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep, and my calorie limit – not done. I got in only one workout. It was a hard week for me personally. I was sick to my stomach with worry for my FIL and I struggled with normalcy. This week he’s going to get his port and fight. He can beat this. I know it. Now, I need to act like I know it. He’s taking care of him and I’ll take care of me. WEEK 11 PRIORITY
    • Weekly Nia study (i.e. studying the song/movement structure) – not done. WEEK 11 PRIORITY
    • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities – done. It was another busy week with more bills and lots of reporting. Good news, I passed everything to my co-treasurer to take care of things for the next week. Yeah!
    • Organize something in the house each week & clean something in the house every day – not done. WEEK 11 PRIORITY
    • Spend time in the garden – done. I started cutting back spent blooms. This is always a sad task for me, but there’s still plenty of things to look forward to in my garden.

Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. LAST WEEK: Lydia got ready to spend the day working with Jake. THIS WEEK: As promised, we’re checking in with Jake.

How had this woman grabbed his attention? She was the type you didn’t notice often, except her frequent trips to refill her coffee mug. This morning might have been the first time he heard her sweet voice.

Now all he could think about were the other things he had never noticed before, such as the length of her long, brown hair and the intensity shining in her hazel eyes. He could get a nice grip and pull her hair as he fucked her from behind.

Get control of yourself, man. There will be no fucking. It was a pity, because the curve of her beautiful, full behind would look amazing with the red impression of his hand.

.

Yeap, just as I thought. They’re both in trouble. She caught him with her sweet voice and … <~ You can <tweet that> if you want. Next week, I’ll get them in the same room and we’ll see if they can get any work done. 😉

ROW80 Check-in #73 Get Back to Work

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

Fun and games are over. It’s time to get back to work. The best thing I can do for my debut now is to get published again. I have three WIPs on the edge of ready.

I need to get back to my routine of taking care of me, studying my craft, and working on my WIPs everyday, everyday, EVERYDAY. 😀

School starts again this week in Michigan which means my days will start earlier and my oldest will be gone ALL day. My youngest starts preschool next week and will be gone three mornings. Are there any changes coming to your routine this fall? Good luck with any and all changes everyone.

Now, for some inspiration …

This week, Paul and All-Star Kathryn perform a Jazz routine choreographed by Tyce Diorio. This piece is hot, fast and all kinds of cool. Kathryn does some crazy things with her legs, one of the best is right at the end. You don’t want to miss it. The dancing starts about 46-seconds in.

The Goals – week-9 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters – done.
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting – once again, this is only done if writing guest posts can count. I have written and sent all the guest spots that I’ve committed to so far though. Tomorrow, I plan on getting back to work on the next WIP I plan to submit.
    • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep, and my calorie limit – not done. My release week is officially over. It’s time to get back to routine, time to get back to work. WEEK 10 PRIORITY
    • Weekly Nia study (i.e. studying the song/movement structure) – not done. WEEK 10 PRIORITY
    • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities – done. It was a busy week on the preschool front. The big parent meeting happened and it went well. Yeah! I also took care of deposits, expense reports, and lots of bills.

Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. In last Wednesday’s Mid Week Tease,  I shared a bit more. Jake picked Lydia for the project! Click over to the tease to find out what happened and the cause behind her jitters. THIS WEEK: Lydia’s getting ready to spend the day alone with Jake.

If the nonsensical feelings were left to fester she’d tumble into a panic attack.

They had a big task in front of them. Loads of work would fill the day, and there was no need to get emotional. Her brain heard all the reasonable thoughts, but her body continued to brace against panic. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the pace of her breathing. She needed a distraction. She opened her eyes and found it in the mess on her desk. Her hands shifted pages, such a normal thing for her to do, except she wasn’t reading a thing.

Oh boy, Lydia’s successfully worked her nerves into a dancing fit. <~ You can <tweet that> if you want. I wonder how Jake’s doing. Come back and find out.
