Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. Today, I’m sharing from my debut, TAKING CHANCES. It’s available now at Amazon and Barnes & Noble!
Taking Chances is the first in a series of books I’m calling The Love Projects. Taking Chances is the story of Lydia and Jake. The blurb and cover are below. LAST WEEK: Jake and Lydia entered the room where they’ll be working together and both are already fighting their desire. THIS WEEK: I’ve skipped forward a few pages. At this point, Lydia is working and Jake is working on something. 😉
He shouldn’t be thinking about taking Lydia right here on the table. Best to put a stop to it now before things spiraled out of control.
They were working at a fast pace, but they had several days ahead of them. Time to get your head back on what’s right in front of you. He looked up to find her leaning over him pointing at the screen.
“Right here, Jake, we need to add a screen print here so they don’t get confused.”
She was beautiful in her convictions, but it was the slant of her neck to her shoulder that continued to captivate his attention. The patch of skin called to him, invited him. It wouldn’t take much effort to hold her to the spot and lick the junction into his greedy mouth.
She’s talking about screen prints and he’s thinking about, well, clearly not screen prints. <~ You can <tweet that> if you want. Interesting day at the office, lol. Wonder if it will get any easier? What do you think?

BLURB:
Lydia’s father walked away from her when she was eight. She’s struggled to not let him affect her, but fears she wasn’t loveable enough to make him stay. Jake wants to
love one woman, but after scaring the last woman he met outside of the club, he doubts he has the right. She protects her heart by sticking with her fantasies, and he lives by a set of rules that excludes women who choose a vanilla lifestyle.
The two will be kept in a conference room working together until their special project is complete. If Lydia and Jake hold tight to their bland lives, they’ll always yearn for love that is out of reach. But together they can find common ground, passion, and a reason to take chances. Once they discover the grand possibilities of the love they desire, they find themselves in the very place they tried never to be again, facing unguaranteed love.
I’m holding a GIVEAWAY through the end of September to celebrate my debut.

Thank you so much for visiting me, it means a lot to me that you took the time to visit my little place on the web. Don’t forget to check out the other Weekend Warriors, the Snippet Sunday Facebook Group, and Saturday Spankings too.
I can’t decide if their project is doomed, or if it’s going to absorb so much ambient UST that it’ll set the demographic on fire. Either way, should be fun! 😀
Ha! You’re so right, Sarah. 🙂 Tempting these two was so much fun.
I like how they’re both tempted. Good descriptions, too, of what’s happening in the scene.
Thanks, Frank. It was a lot of fun to tempt these two. They just made it so easy, lol.
Temptation is good…makes the reader wonder what will happen.
Very sensual, I can feel his urge to taste her skin, lovely!
Yes! That’s exactly what I was going for. Thanks, Gemma. 🙂
Enjoyed this book. Can’t imagine being able to concentrate at work with so much hotness! Whew!
Lydia definitely deserves some kudos for getting some work done, but poor Jake needs a cold shower, lol. Thanks again for reading my book and for the review. Much appreciated. 🙂
Imagine when the week is over and they’ve got nothing done—-well, work wise anyway. 🙂
History Sleuth’s Writings No snippet for me this week, I’ve got veggies to process! Yum.
Something will be done by the end of the week. That I can promise. 😉
Hurry and get those veggies processed, I want more snippets from you.
What a naughty boy…but I like his train of thought. Very tempting. 😀
Jake is so very naughty which makes him perfect for Lydia, lol. I like his train of thought too. Thanks, Sarah. 🙂
Ha! No way is he going to be able to focus on work with her standing there:)
He can try, but he might not be successful, lol. 🙂 Thanks, Eleri.
Ooh, sexy thoughts in the workplace. Well done!
Thank you very much. 🙂
Oh MY, he has it bad LOL. This project they’re doing is either going to be terrific or so screwed up as to be amazingly FAIL. Enjoying the story, great snippet!.
I know he has it bad. You know he has it bad. Now, Jake needs to know it. I can tell you he definitely figures something out. Thanks, Veronica. 🙂
“Time to get your head back on what’s right in front of you.” My first thought was that he needed to sort our which “head” he’s thinking about. LOL Great snippet!
Lol, P.T., you’re so right. 🙂 Thanks.
Love his train of thought. lol Great snippet.
Sexy snippet 🙂
A very sensuous snippet. I like where his head is more than hers. 😉
Me too, lol. Something tells me that’s going to be changing. 😉
Oh, go ahead, Jake, take her on the table! Go for it bud! 🙂 We are rooting for you 😉
Great snippet!
Anne, I like the way you think. 🙂 Thanks!
Great internal dialogue. It makes me want to read the scene where he gives in! 😀
I think you’d like that scene. It’s a scorcher. 🙂
Great snippet, I bet he doesn’t even know what she’s talking about.
Nope, not a clue. Men, lol. 🙂 Thanks, Sherry.
He’s so lost in lust, I don’t think he gets a word of what she’s saying. With that kind of straying mind, he won’t be able to fight the lust much longer, I don’t think. Well done.
I don’t think he will either, Rayne. 🙂 Thanks.
How are they ever going to get this job done?
I can tell you something almost gets done and something else gets done really well. That’s all I’m saying. 🙂
It doesn’t sound like he’s multitasking very well. He’d better focus, or she’s going to notice where his attention is wandering to…
I agree. It’s time for this Dom to take action. Good thinking, Caitlin. 😉
This project may be doomed! Who can concentrate at a time like this?
The only reason why Lydia is concentrating at all is because she actually believes Jake isn’t interested. Well, that’s about to change. 🙂
he’s totally gone in another direction than the project.LOL. Love it
Yeap, he’s a goner, lol. 🙂 Thanks, Michelle.
He’s not concentrating on work, he’s concentrating on her. Well written snippet and sensual. Added to my TBR.
Yeah!! Thanks, Sandy. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
Very sensual, S.J. 🙂 I wonder how she’s keeping her mind on the job. 😀 And I like your tweet tool thingy. lol. I tweeted. 🙂 Good 8!
Thanks! I don’t think her mind will be on the job for long. Yes, the tweetables thingy is pretty cool and so easy. Thanks for the tweet. 🙂
They still have a lot of time alone to work on this, he is definitely going to make a move sooner or later. I wanna see that.
Absolutely delicious distraction! And it sounds like they *are* ahead of the project schedule…what’s a little break now? LOL!
