Mid Week Tease – She’ll Be Here – a snippet from Unravel Me

This week, I’m going to share a snippet from Unravel Me, my story in the hot anthology Executive Assistant. In this snippet: Colin and Mistress Charlie are waiting for Mary to show for her punishment after getting caught in a lie. Enjoy!

The next morning, Colin paced his office. “I’m not sure she’s going to show. I’m sorry for wasting your time, Mistress Charlie.” He wasn’t sure what bothered him more, that Mary may not show for her punishment or that he might not get to touch her again. He raked his fingers through his hair.

“She’ll be here.” She grasped his shoulders and squeezed. “She called me after I talked to you last night.”

“And what story did she tell you?” He imagined she spun up something that didn’t leave her club application in question.

“Don’t be so quick to judge, Colin. The actions that got her here and with what happened yesterday, it’s all left her quite fragile. One thing is for sure, you made one heck of an impression on her.”

“I had her pegged all wrong.” He shook his head. “I actually thought her innocent.”

“Today’s a new day. Let’s sit and eat the muffins I brought while we wait.”

They sat and talked about her latest renovation on her bed and breakfast and reminisced about a recent collaring ceremony at the club. He continued to check his watch.

“Colin?” A tentative voice called from Jen’s office.

“That must be Mary.” His heart beat faltered. “My staff knows she’s the only one who’s to come back here today.”

“Okay. I’ll wait for you in the dungeon.”

He strode with purpose to get Mary, but her appearance halted him. Her limp hair and swollen naked eyes left nothing of the woman he met yesterday. Only her sweet vanilla scent remained.

“Mary.” He cleared his throat. Her flinch pushed all the wrong buttons. Mistress Charlie was right. She appeared small and almost broken, stripped bare. She’d been planning to mess with his merger. Her obvious discomfort should please him, but it felt like sandpaper over a cut instead.

Mid Week Tease – Anything You Want
