About S.J. Maylee

S.J. Maylee fell in love with storytelling at a young age and with it came a deep-seated desire for everyone to find their happily ever after. She’s finding the happy endings for her characters one steamy story at a time. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her caring for her garden, laughing with her two young sons, or dancing to her husband’s music. She’s a PMP (Project Management Professional), Nia instructor, and coffee addict. As a writer she has a tendency to break hearts, but she always glues them back together

Six Sentence Sunday #41 – Gentle Eyes

Happy Six Sunday. Thanks for visiting this week and I’d love to know what you think. I have another 6 from my latest Novella BDSM WIP. It’s a sequel to the WIP I have been sharing these past many weeks. Last Week: Simon is hanging with a punching bag in the club’s gym to let off some of the fury created by our lovely Janna, who is shaken by Simon’s dismissal This Week: Since Simon hasn’t returned, Janna decides to slip out of the club and fly home. Before she can make a move a man approaches her and asks if he can help.

She turned and looked into the gentle eyes of a tall older man. “No, thank you, I was just leaving.” She reached to gather her things, but he got to them first.

“You’re upset, I’d like to help, if I can.”

His tone required no argument, but she didn’t want to explain to a stranger why she was a waste of his time. “I’m just a guest from out of town, really, I’ll be fine.”

What do you think, does she leave or stay? Fate is stepping in, but who is this guy and can he really help bring Janna and Simon back together?  I’ll give you more next week. Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I’d like to know what you really think of my 6. I need the advice, I’m a newbie and have much to learn.

Don’t forget to check out the other Six Sunday authors. Lots of good stuff at Six Sunday and its days are now sadly numbered. Try to find a new favorite today. happy hunting!

ROW80 check-in #38 – Just Say No.

I heard a term this week, fake busy. It got me thinking about the different stages in my life and what I might have mistakenly assumed was out of my control and how it changed me personally. If I look back at the times in my life where I was the most cranky, anxious, and unhappy, they’re also the busiest times in my life. We are all products of our environment, right? The truth for me is that I hate being busy. I need room to breath in my day. I need time to stretch my imagination and feel free. The busy bug puts a nasty kink into my creative well being.

I’ve learned a few things in the past couple months. First I could have delegated a few more things and I could have said no. You better believe the next time I’m placed in a similar situation, the pain of the last many weeks will rise, and I WILL SAY NO. Some lessons are hard to learn, while others are pounded in with a sledge hammer and will be impossible to forget.

The light at the end of the tunnel is glowing brighter. The new gal is back from vacation starting tomorrow and my evil day job schedule can finally get back to normal, well, my new normal.

The Goals – week-5 results

  • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters- done. I didn’t make as much progress this week in my daily sessions, but I’m pleased that this goal is a part of my ingrained routine and at least my characters said hello.
  • Weekly progress in word count, editing, and/or plotting- 1/2 done. I’ve received edits back from my CP and from the crit group. I’ve reviewed all the comments, but have not yet begun making changes. There are a couple areas I’m contemplating changing and I want to get a handle on them before I dig in. I need more of goal #1 for sure.
  • Finish reading current craft book- I spent no time with Margie this week. boo. WEEK 6 PRIORITY.
  • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep and my calorie limit- done.
  • Study one of the Nia 52-moves each week- Head and Eye Movements. Look in any direction with your eyes and then follow that direction with a move of your head. Use your eyes to seduce your head, through natural curiosity, into moving. To enhance relaxation, keep your lower jaw slightly open, and let the tip of your tongue press lightly into the roof of your mouth. Benefits: the practice reminds you to look where you go.
  • Finish the Nia Sanjana-routine bars and start the Nia Opal-routine bars (i.e. studying the song/movement structure)- Just yesterday I started charting out the next song in the routine. I didn’t make giant progress, but it’s something.
  • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities- done. This week I handled payroll, bills, monthly reporting, invoices, filed the tax return, and handled the change for a large event. This week will be easier, just a parent meeting.
  • Organize something in the house each week-  I took a pass here this week. I had company in the house everyday this week. Everyday. And I still have company. My mom leaves tomorrow, the last in a long string. WEEK-6 PRIORITY.

My house was full of family this week and it was hard at times, but such a joy. My husband’s cousin is nursing her broken heart and doing fantastic. She’s in that point in her life where she wants to be single for some time and figure out exactly what she wants. Once she starts dating again she will stand her ground and not forget about who she is. I’m pretty happy and excited for her. The little jerk may have hurt her, but she will come back stronger and in a better place.

Hope you all have a fabulous week.

@skye_warren

I found Skye through Six Sunday. Each week her six sentences would grab hold of me and sink in. I read Trust in Me (Dark Erotica #2) and really enjoyed it. There is a ton of power and emotion in Skye’s words. I jumped at the chance to be a part of Skye’s tour for the release of her third book in the series. She’s definitely an author I recommend. Skye will be here, at my blog in just two weeks. I’m excited. But you can check out her tour now, click on the tour button. Below I have the blurb, trailer, and buy links.

She doesn’t remember her past, only her training. She can’t talk, not that a good slave should speak out of turn. None of that matters when she wakes up in the warm, rustic room. Her new master is distant but kind. There’s only one problem: he doesn’t want her.

Longing for the shackles of safety, she pulls from the last dregs of her will to prove her worth as a slave. It seems to be working. He responds first to her body and next to her submission. The secrets of his past haunt the cabin, fraying the tightening bond between Master and slave, but it is her own memories that may finally unravel it.

This book contains a bonus short story Escape, set in the same dark erotica world.

WARNING:
This book contains explicit scenes of sex, including dubious consent and captivity situations. The BDSM does not conform to literary conventions, making it sometimes more realistic, and other times not. This is a work of fiction not appropriate for anyone uncomfortable with these situations or anyone under the age of eighteen.

Six Sentence Sunday #40 – Something Lost

Happy Six Sunday. Thanks for visiting this week and I’d love to know what you think. I have another 6 from my latest Novella BDSM WIP. It’s a sequel to the WIP I have been sharing these past many weeks. Last Week: Simon sought out a punching bag in the club’s gym to let off some of the fury created by our lovely Janna. This Week: we are back in Janna’s POV to see how she’s dealing with Simon’s exit.

She couldn’t move, shame filled her to bursting. Not only was her perfect night ruined, but she had angered him. The chill in his eyes as he turned away sent a shiver down her spine. It was all her fault, she always ruined things, a Janna specialty. Her inability to commit to any one thing drove her insane. And now she feared her worst trait lost her something special.

Poor Janna. Will she run home or will fate intervene?  I’ll give you a hint next week. Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I’d like to know what you really think of my 6. I need the advice, I’m a newbie and have much to learn.

Don’t forget to check out the other Six Sunday authors. Lots of good stuff at Six Sunday and its days are now sadly numbered. I’m not crying. Try to find a new favorite today. happy hunting!

ROW80 check-in #37 – The New Normal

Waiting for your schedule to calm down and return to “normal” can feel like running around a hamster wheel. After one more attempt I’ve driven this thought home: my new normal just won’t fit back into the box.

So, now what?

Getting angry and stomping my feet will get me absolutely no where, except burn a few calories. It’s time to let go of what once was. Wait, but it was so nice and pretty. Okay, one more second to mourn…that’s enough. I must move on and make this work. It’s time to either accept the pace of my week or make changes to the few things left under my discretion.

I had a pretty good evil day job week, back to the hours I signed up for. My week should have slipped right back into the normal routine, right? Wrong. My youngest turned three at the end of August. I’ve been waiting to give him his big boy room until I had a moment to breathe. So instead of enjoying a week with some extra room, I filled it to the brim with last minute details, painting, sorting, hanging…and the big reveal. The results are spectacular and somehow fit into our budget, even better. My little guy likes robots. The silver lamp you see was my childhood lamp. Up until a couple days ago it was an adorable baby room yellow with delicate white striping. Don’t tell my mom, she doesn’t know yet.

The Goals – week-4 results

  • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters- done
  • Weekly progress in word count, editing, and/or plotting- done. This week started with plotting and ended with a battle won round of edits. More huge steps on the critique partner front. I think I might have found the golden egg. The partner that has the skills you need/vice versa and in your genre. She’s a writer I’ve been enjoying too, which is nice. Plus, she’s very active, which is huge. So often things don’t work out, because one or both are not on the same path. Fingers crossed. I hope to send her back my crit of her MS tonight and last night I sent her mine.
  • Finish reading current craft book- I spent a few hours with Margie yesterday. Love her packets.
  • Workout a minimum of three times a week and round it out with plenty of water, sleep and my calorie limit- done.
  • Study one of the Nia 52-moves each week- Spinal Roll: stand in “A” stance, inhale deeply, look up, sense the front of your body lengthening and opening. Use your hands as support and slide them down your legs. Sink until you reach the point your body says, “enough.” Exhale and look toward the earth, round up, push your feet into the floor and walk your hands back up your legs until you return to a standing posture.
  • Finish the Nia Sanjana-routine bars and start the Nia Opal-routine bars (i.e. studying the song/movement structure)- no progress. This task is falling down the hole again this round. Mostly due to my work schedule and apparently it’s prioritized after my writing, which I find very interesting. BUT I do want to study, practice, and teach Nia…I need to find time for this goal in the New Normal. WEEK-5 PRIORITY
  • Stay on top of my co-op preschool Treasurer responsibilities- done. Huge deposits made this week. I could have done more, but I accomplished plenty, which means I have loads to do this coming week. yeah.
  • Organize something in the house each week-  done. In preparation for the big boy room change, I needed to to go through my oldest’s closet. A couple weeks ago I pulled out all the clothes he can no longer wear, or so I thought. I’ve found more! I also sorted through my old suits, which I had hanging in his closet. At the end of the review I had more clothes in storage waiting for my youngest, a bag for donation, and a large stack ready for consignment. The organization continued big time as the change in our youngest’s room went into full swing. Glad that is done, but there is still more to do. Including selling all the baby room things. Anyone need a crib set, including valances and hamper in a yellow and green frog/pond theme 🙂

I hope everyone has a great week. I’ll be attempting to change things up this week, which is a must. Later today my hubs cousin from CA is coming to stay with us for two days. Her  boyfriend dumped her cruelly and she’s a little brokenhearted. I’m going to do my part, strong hugs, good coffee, and Nia. She loves Nia.

Be sure to come back this week. I’m super excited to be sharing with you two books I’m totally geeked about. Until then…

Jessica made her way onto the dance floor. Nothing she tried worked, Chad continued to pay her zero attention. She tugged at her resilience and began releasing the tension. The heavy beat of the music entered her body and she shook out the last bits of ugliness. Maybe she tried too hard, maybe she should give up her crush. Her heart ached with the thought and she let it disappear through the rocking bodies around her.

A strong hand caressed her hip and lips tingled her ear.

“I’ve missed you, Jessica.”

Chad’s arm wrapped around her and pulled her close.

BLURB:

Anna can’t believe how much the woman in the picture looks like her. They could be twins, except the picture was taken in 1871. Either she’s a relative, or Anna had a past life in Hamilton, Nevada. Either way, the temptation to visit the old ghost town is too much. She and her friend Kat travel west. While off exploring on her own, Anna is knocked unconscious when she falls down the steps in the saloon. She can hardly believe her eyes when she wakes. Beau and Zeke won the Silver Rush Saloon in a poker game and have been partners and secret lovers for over ten years. They don’t know what to make of the woman they found half-dressed in their cellar. She claims to know something terrible that’s about to happen to their town and needs their help. Will Anna be able to win their love and trust before it’s too late?

EXCERPT:

Work-roughened palms with long, tapering fingers roughly untied the rope at her waist and yanked the loose pants down her thighs. She groaned and let her fingers slide through Zeke’s hair when he nuzzled her mound over the satiny cloth of her thong. “Darlin’, you’ve got some of the strangest drawers I’ve ever seen. There’s practically nothing to ’em.” He ran his thumb over the silky nub of her panties eliciting a soft gasp from her lips.

Beau pulled her hand away, forcing her arms back as he unfastened and pulled off her shirt. She became pliant as he kissed every inch of the skin he exposed, his hand sliding down her back to rest on the swell of her ass. She could feel him tugging on the elastic of her thong. “I wanna see you, Anna.”

“Yeah, me too.” Zeke slid the tiny scrap of material down her legs letting his fingers run through her feminine curls. “You’re so silky here.”

“Let me see.” Beau’s hand snaked around her hip, his fingers skimming over her pussy lips. “Damn, she’s sopping wet.”

Zeke reached between her legs to brush a fingertip across the hood of her throbbing clit. “I can’t wait any longer, Beau.” He dropped to his knees and rubbed her swollen clit with his thumb. Leaning close, he replaced his hand with his mouth and ran his tongue up the slit of her wet pussy.

“No!” Anna cried out when Beau pulled her away from the fiery pleasure of Zeke’s mouth.

“Patience, Anna. We just need to get a little more comfortable.” He scooped her into his arms and tossed her onto the bed. Now we can all get down to business.”

Anna watched the two men quickly strip off their clothes. Their chiseled, work-roughened features causing the breath to catch in her throat. Both men sported impressive erections, and both were already leaking pre-cum. She swallowed hard. “What about protection?”

Beau gave her a wink as he climbed onto the bed. “Don’t worry, honey. We’ll make sure to pull out in time. We won’t be leaving you with a babe.”

Anna forced herself to concentrate as Zeke snuggled close on her other side. “No, that’s not what I mean. You can’t get me pregnant, at least not right now.”

Zeke placed a hand on her chin and forced her gaze up to his. “I’m so sorry, Anna. You can’t have children?”

“No, I mean yes, I probably can. I just wouldn’t be able to get pregnant for a few months. I just had my Depo shot before we left on vacation.” She sighed at the puzzled frowns on their faces. “It’s an injection the doctor gives me a few times a year that keeps me from getting pregnant. That way I get to decide when I want to have a baby.”

“Guess we don’t have to ask if you’ve been with a man before.” Beau smoothed the hair away from her face.

“Well, yes, I’ve had a couple of relationships with men.” She watched their faces carefully. “Does that make a difference?”

“Absolutely not!”

“No, honey, not at all.”

Anna giggled. “I’m glad it doesn’t bother you.”

“If you can’t conceive a child, then why were you asking about protection?” Zeke moved over and settled between her spread thighs.

His warm breath on her stomach made it difficult for Anna to voice her thoughts. “I meant condoms, you know, for disease.” She took a deep breath. “Not that I’m sick or anything, I mean I’m clean and I’m sure you are, too, but it always pays to be careful.” She could feel herself flushing as she rambled on.

“What are you—”

“I know what she’s talking about.” Beau ran his hand through Zeke’s hair. “I read about ’em. Some kind of little coverings men could use to catch their seed so they didn’t spill into their woman’s body.”

“I never heard of such a thing.” Zeke leaned close and blew gently on her spread pussy. “As far as I know there’s nothing like that around here.”

Anna groaned and closed her eyes as she brushed her hand along the bristly roughness of his unshaven beard. She could feel the muffled heat of his breath flicker across her abdomen. “I guess it’ll have to be okay then.” She lost the ability to talk when Zeke stroked her clit with his thumb, his fingers working their way inside her. She began to pant as he rubbed gentle circles around the tiny nub.

“You’re so beautiful.” Beau kissed her eyelids softly, his hand caressing across the skin of her chest. His lips roamed over to her earlobe and then down the side of her neck while his fingers teased the sensitive tip of her breast, making maddeningly slow circles around the peak. He pinched and kneaded each nipple in turn before lifting her breast in his hand. He circled her nipple with his tongue just before he sucked it deep inside his mouth.

“Spread your legs wider,” Zeke ordered. He settled his upper body even lower between her spread thighs and licked her from bottom to top. “God, you taste like sweet honey.” He laved her most intimate places with his hot tongue, stroking down her slit and back up, swirling around her pulsing clit.

Anna groaned harshly when Beau’s thumb circled her nipple, torturing it into a hard bud before sucking it deep into his mouth. She couldn’t stop a moan from escaping when she felt the sharp nip of his teeth on her tender flesh.

Zeke opened her folds with his fingers and began to lick her clit in earnest while he penetrated her sheath with his fingers. He plucked and teased her swollen nub, slipping his thick index finger in and out before tracing her cleft again.

“Oh, God,” she cried out, her hips bucking off the mattress as an orgasm washed through her senses.

Zeke threw a hand across her abdomen, holding her still as he lapped and sucked until the last wave of pleasure receded.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

I was born, and raised in the great southern state of Tennessee. In my youth, I studied nursing, and spent several happy years working in the hospitals there until I branched out into medical management in 1980.

In 1998 I was managing a medical supply house in Chattanooga, when I met the love of my life. The only problem facing me then, he lived way out in Oklahoma. You see, we had met in a chat room!

He romanced me daily with love letters, flowers and phone calls. It wasn’t long before I uprooted myself, and moved west to join him. We married in 1999, and then continued our fantasy romance all over the world. Together we have traveled in almost all of the Continental United States, and taken trips to Canada and China.

I retired from working in 2002 and it wasn’t long before my husband was encouraging me to find some kind of outlet to occupy my time, something that was challenging, and rewarding. I was already obsessed with reading about romance, and I began to think I could probably write a good, romantic story. My husband heartily agreed with me. With that encouragement, I began writing my first book. I wasn’t really convinced that anyone else would find it interesting, but he pressed me to take a chance and send it in to a publisher. To my surprise, it was accepted, and now I’m able to share it with readers everywhere who like a “happily ever after” story.

Today, I’m living in California with my, still romantic, husband of twelve years, and our boys. Our boys consist of Beau, Midnight, and Bubba, three male cats that allow us to live with them and serve them at their leisure. I continue to write almost daily, hoping that someone, somewhere will get the same enjoyment from reading my stories, that I get from writing them.

Blurb:

What Does A Man Say to the Woman He Betrayed But Never Stopped Loving?

Three years ago, Zachary Steele refused to entertain thoughts of permanency with any woman. A hedonist at heart, he didn’t want to corrupt the much younger, Madigan DeLeon, by continuing his affair with her. With the hidden scars of his past, he didn’t believe in happily-ever-after. By the time he realized how much Madigan meant to him, he’d driven her away. Then, one night, after being clean for a number of years, Zach briefly falls off the bandwagon. He believes his lovemaking to Madi is a drug-induced hallucination. The resulting consequences tell another story.

What Does A Woman Do When the Only Man She’s Ever Loved Hurt Her So Deeply She Feared She’d Never Recover?

Three years after her affair with Zach so abruptly ended, celebutante, Madigan DeLeon, is thrust back into Zach’s life by her mother’s machinations. Brought home under the false pretenses of repairing her damaged relationship with her mother, Madi instead finds herself running a private sex club called Wicked Allure. Forced to confront her anger at his betrayal and grief at the loss of what might’ve been, Madi faces the realization that she’s never stopped loving Zach.

Can Two Broken Hearts Set Aside Anger and Betrayal to Find True Love Once and For All?

Searching the deepest recesses of their hearts, in a place where pride and pain has no room, Madi and Zach must decide if their bond is strong enough to take a second chance at love. Or if resuming their sexual relationship is an irresistible wicked allure and the ghosts of their former relationship will finally, and forever, sever all ties between them.

S. J.’s Review:

Wicked Allure starts fast and hooks you. The first scene smolders and finishes with some fast moving dialogue. I don’t think I looked up from the book during the first 50 pages, I wanted more. Madi and Zach put each other through the ringer. Man, the emotion and passion on the page is very real. Their sex scenes are burning hot, this writing team has a real talent for adding the heat and there is loads of it too. Love it. Madi’s family adds a ton of conflict to this story providing a war of emotions and entanglements. You feel right in the middle of the story, and believe me, you’ll feel the roller coaster turning. The story will put you through the ringer and the drama stays fresh and moving right till the very end. The biggest question of all is will Madi and Zack work things out. Will they push past life’s challenges, push past what scares them the most and make the grand leap. It’s fascinating page turning stuff.

5.0 – I loved it, it’s a must read

Six Sentence Sunday #39 – Release the Revulsion

Happy Six Sunday. Tomorrow is my one-year blogoversary, so I’ve changed a few things here. Do you like?

Thanks for visiting this week and I’d love to know what you think. I have another 6 from my latest Novella BDSM WIP. It’s a sequel to the WIP I have been sharing these past many weeks. Last Week: Simon sought out a punching bag in the club’s gym to let off some of the fury created by our lovely Janna. This Week: we have the very next 6 from Simon.

Pressure reverberated from his hand straight to his heart, but it didn’t release the revulsion.

“Damn her.”

He tried to tell himself it was just another scene with no one but a guest sub. There was no possible way she could have felt as right as he thought, the anger tricked him. An image of her regret filled faced tugged at his resolve. His fingers flexed as he remembered her velvet channel, his cock twitched and he hit the bag again.

I still feel bad for the bag. 🙂 And what about Janna? I’ll let you know next week.
