Flash Fiction #28 – Release the Tension

Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.

Jessica made her way onto the dance floor. Nothing she tried worked, Chad continued to pay her zero attention. She tugged at her resilience and began releasing the tension. The heavy beat of the music entered her body and she shook out the last bits of ugliness. Maybe she tried too hard, maybe she should give up her crush. Her heart ached with the thought and she let it disappear through the rocking bodies around her.

A strong hand caressed her hip and lips tingled her ear.

“I’ve missed you, Jessica.”

Chad’s arm wrapped around her and pulled her close.

  1. Ohh…yummy!! I was worried at first for Jessica her heart breaking, but I love how you twisted it around and I felt so good for her and happy that Chad finally came around. I enjoyed this flash, very sweet and warm. 🙂
