Six Sentence Sunday #12

Happy Six Sunday, thanks for visiting AND commenting!! I’m continuing this week with 6 from my Novella WIP. Jake and Lydia are in the room where they will be working on a new project. Lydia has been working desperately to quiet her internal fantasies & Jake has been trying to remember to keep his hands off Lydia. The two seem to be doing a bang up job of crossing their signals, lets see if they do any better this week…

“Let’s start by creating a list of policies we need and then we’ll start writing. I want to get a couple started before we order lunch,” he grumbled.

“Lunch, well I…,” she attempted to explain her lunch was in the frig down the hall, but stopped short when their eyes locked.

“Forget your lunch plans; you’re not leaving my side until we’re done here.”

The demand made her heart leap in her chest and heat pool in her core. She wondered what excited her more, time with Jake or the threat shining in his dark eyes.

Hmm, is Jake turning on his dominate side unknowingly and does he realize she likes it? Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I’d like to know what you really think of my 6. I need the advice, I’m a newbie and have much to learn. Don’t forget to check out the other Six Sunday authors. Lots of good stuff at Six Sunday. Try to find a new favorite today. happy hunting!

Six Sentence Sunday #11

I missed the last couple of Six Sentence Sundays due to a wonderful vacation, or was that a day-dream? No, because a day-dream would have better coffee 🙂 I survived my in-laws pre-ground coffee and do have many precious memories stored away.

Anyways, I’m back at it and continuing this week with 6 from my Novella WIP. I left Jake and Lydia in the room where they will be working on a new project. Lydia has been working desperately to quiet her internal fantasies & Jake has been trying to remember to keep his hands off Lydia. They are both now standing at the window looking out over the ravine… and now for another 6

“I’m sorry, just lost in my thoughts,” she rushed to reassure him. “Sometimes I get lost in the view,” she was not at all tempted to return her gaze to the woods.

“I remember when that tree fell a couple years ago. I’m glad they haven’t  taken it away,” he murmured.

“Agreed, sometimes things should be left alone.”

Jake looked at her like she had slapped him.

Oh boy, I think these two are going to be getting their signals crossed. Well come back next week and see what I reveal next.

Six Sentence Sunday #9

Last week Jake entered THE room and we learned of some of his troubles. Now it’s Lydia’s turn…

She heard the door open, but was hesitant to turn around and see the man standing behind her.

Lydia didn’t often have trouble turning off her internal fantasies.

Jake’s darkening eyes were all her mind could see.

Standing at the window, staring at the trees as they swayed in the wind was not helping.

Usually the site of the ravine behind their building calmed her nerves.

Lydia imagined her body rocking against Jake in a steady rhythm that matched the sway of the trees.

I’m pretty sure Lydia is in trouble too, but you’ll have to come back next week to find out more! Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I’d like to know what you really think of my 6. I need the comments and I love to respond to my comments too. Don’t forget to check out the other Six Sunday authors. Lots of good stuff at Six Sunday. Six Sentence Sunday #8

In the last three weeks we’ve learned Lydia and Jake are about to spend some lengthy time together locked in a room and working on a project. In the previous 6s we’ve gotten a glimpse at both Lydia’s and Jake’s first thoughts. This week we continue in Jake’s head as he enters THE room.

He returned to the conference room early with the excuse of clearing the table.

Maybe his mind would calm down by doing the mindless task.

The door opened to reveal Lydia with her back to him across the room.

His body heated at the sight of her.

She was looking out the window, but all he could look at was the slope of her neck.

He was in a lot of trouble.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I’d really like to know what you think of my 6 & the picture of Jake. He’s cute and sexy, right? I love comments and I love to respond to my comments too. Six Sentence Sunday #6

I’m back again this week with another 6 from my novella WIP.  Last week I introduced you to Jake and Lydia.

Jake and Lydia work together. When Jake selects Lydia to work with him on a special project their instant attraction starts a torturous simmer neither expected. Just before the following 6 sentences Lydia got lost in her own fantasies.

“Lydia, thanks for rejoining us.

Clear your calendar and meet me back here in a half hour,” Jake commanded.

She looked up into his eyes and stammered out, “Yes Sir, I mean…ok, I’ll do that.”

Everyone was up and half way to the door before Lydia made a move.

She was lost in the split second in which she saw Jake’s eyes darken.

She wanted to see that again, but he was gone.

I hope you enjoyed my 6, please let me know what you think!! I hope you will come back next week to find out more about Jake and Lydia. Please check out the other Six Sunday authors & have a lovely week and an excellent Super Bowl Sunday!!

Six Sentence Sunday #5

I’m back! I have not participated in SixSunday since late November and I’ve missed the fun tremendously. I’ve been lost in edit land in my first book, but a week ago I started writing a novella to cheer me up. I’m happy to bring you 6 from the 1st chapter of my first novella.

Jake and Lydia work together. A new database just went live and the problems are overwhelming. The boss has called a meeting to figure out what should be done.

“Mr. Keller, we need strong policies and procedures to move forward,” declared Jake, who sat across from her.

“Jake, I think you are onto something,” boss man Mr. Keller usually agreed with Jake. “I’d like you to head the team on this one Jake. Pick someone from this table and lock yourselves in a room and get it done,”  and with that Mr. Keller left us in Jake’s capable hands.

Not a sound could be heard in the room, she wondered if everyone was thinking about the only thing on her mind and pounding in her heart.

Locked in a room with Jake.

I hope you enjoyed my 6, please let me know what you think!! I hope you will come back next week to find out more about Jake and Lydia. Please check out the other Six Sunday authors, they are a really impressive bunch!! Have a lovely week!!

ROW80 check-in #3

Yesterday was the end of the 2nd week of the year and things are really starting to move. I’m still in edit land, but I seem to be picking up speed.

My goal for this round of ROW80 is to spend an hour a day with my characters. Last weeks effort got me back into the swing of things and re-attached me to my story. This week I found the time of day that works best and in that time I’m finding my grove.

I spent at least 7 hours with my characters this week, edited over 100 pages, and added 700 words, I’m pleased!

During the last couple of months I realized my story was missing a couple of scenes.  For the life of me I could not figure out where and what the scenes should be, but I knew I had a hole. Yesterday they came to me, I have ideas for both, although they are not fully thought through, I know I’m onto something!!

Yesterday I posted some links that I really liked this week, please take a look, and don’t forget about SixSunday

Have a great week and let your imagination sore!

ROW80 -Round #1 2012- The Goals

In 2011 I started to write and write and write.  I ended 2012 in the middle of editing.  I lost my footing somewhere along the way and lost my daily retreat into my writers head.  Goal #1 is to get back into daily writing.  How am I going to make this happen?… Oh, Oh, I know!!!  ROW80

It’s the writing challenge that knows you have a life! ‘Round of words in 80 days’

I’ve been wanting to sign-up for ROW80 for sometime and now is the time or else something terrible could happen…I could stop…no I wont even finish that thought, I can’t, I must finish!

For round 1 I’m going simple. Work on my book for 1 hour everyday.  Everyday I will write, edit, what ever is needed, I just need to visit my characters daily.  No this is not a perfect plan, but it is better than the plan that occurred in December, which resulted in a grand total of 1107 words, well that was better than November’s 874 words.

Starting today I will spend 1 hour a day with my characters.  I’ll let you know on Wednesday, my first check-in, how I am doing.
