About S.J. Maylee

S.J. Maylee fell in love with storytelling at a young age and with it came a deep-seated desire for everyone to find their happily ever after. She’s finding the happy endings for her characters one steamy story at a time. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her caring for her garden, laughing with her two young sons, or dancing to her husband’s music. She’s a PMP (Project Management Professional), Nia instructor, and coffee addict. As a writer she has a tendency to break hearts, but she always glues them back together

I’m extremely pleased to have Ela Stein here today. She recently made her debut with Evernight Publishing. It’s a great place to make a debut. 🙂 Ela has released not just one, but TWO books and one of them is free. It’s a great opportunity to meet a new author. Plus, one of her excerpts is X-Rated. Wahoo. Take it away, Ela Stein!

***

Hello, everyone! I’m here today to talk about my two new releases with Evernight Publishing, but first of all, a very huge thank you to SJ for having me. These are my first publications, so I am excited and a little scared 🙂 Writing has always been a part of my life, and getting published a dream and a goal, so it’s a cool feeling to have two books for my very first release date.

First, a little bit about my Free Read because… well, it’s free. So you can try out my writing at no risk, and I hope you enjoy it. This is a quick and short read, at a little over 5,000 words. “Pleasure Android 7.1” came about as the result of the eternal “what if” question. With all the advances we’re making in artificial intelligence and robots, it seems almost inevitable that this will be our future. I saw a video about the robots they are creating in China… they look like people, they talk, they make eye contact. It’s exhilarating, the progress we’re making, and a little creepy at the same time. Nico, the hero of “Pleasure Android 7.1” is definitely not the least bit creepy. He was created to be every woman’s fantasy and has the database to deliver (wink, wink).

unnamed (13)Blurb:

Zola is dismayed to discover that for her 40th birthday, her friends teamed up to purchase her a hot sex droid. She refuses to let herself get attached to a machine, and tries her best to avoid the temptation. He is programmed to overcome such resistance and knows how to wear down defenses and sell himself like a pro using his perfect charms and impeccable skills. Though she suspects it’s nothing more than a sales pitch, she begins to question whether beneath his perfect manufactured exterior can lie genuine feelings and desires.

Excerpt:

What the fuck.

A seven-foot-tall box occupied the middle of my living room. I stared at the prime male specimen behind the clear front panel. Well over six feet tall, with dusky skin, dark brown wavy hair, broad shoulders, aquiline nose, full lips—basically, he looked like a model, the kind you’d drool over in an ad for high-end products.

With his eyes closed, his long, thick lashes grazed his chiseled cheekbones. He looked as though he slept—an illusion of the most expensive kind.

I sighed, hands on my hips. My best friend, Lexia, had done it. For my fortieth birthday, she got me a sex droid. She’d joked about it, but I never thought she’d actually follow through. It had to be her—she was the only other person who had access to my apartment.

On the box, in large, blocky print, it proclaimed “Domestic Android 7.1” and underneath it, in fancy script, “For Your Pleasure.” Alrighty then. And what if it was my pleasure to get rid of it? I stalked to the box and circled around it. The back and both sides were solid panels of striking red. If it was supposed to be romantic, their marketing department missed the boat. I wasn’t a big fan of Valentine’s Day, and this was even cheesier than a heart-shaped box of chocolates.

Although, I could remember a time when chocolates, roses, and a little stuffed bear made my heart skip a beat. I had grown a bit jaded over the years, which was probably why my friends decided to gang up and torture me with this… thing. It stood there, like the proverbial elephant in the room. There would be no vid watching on my birthday, cuddled up with a bowl of ice cream. No relaxing in the tub with a good romance novel. Now I was too distracted, and I wasn’t going to be able to enjoy myself until I got this thing out.

A plan formulated: get the box outside and message his creator, Atlas Robotics Corporation, to come pick him up. No, not him. It. I studied the box. At five foot five, it had well over a foot on me. I tried to tilt it to the side, planning on then pushing it out the rest of the way. The damn thing was heavy. So heavy, it didn’t even wobble when I gave it my all.

Exhausted, I plopped down on my yellow pleather couch to glare at the box. I refused to build up a sweat today of all days. What a disaster my birthday was turning out to be. There was no getting the box out until Atlas Robotics agreed to stop by. Since they had no incentive to be eager to process a return, it could be days. Maybe even weeks, I thought miserably.

Not fair that here I was, suffering, while he—it!—stood there, all serene and peaceful. I jumped to my feet and approached the box. There was an easier way to do this. Turn him on and order him to take a hike on his own two legs. The more I considered it, the more I liked this plan. Quick, easy, smart.

Okay, I hope you liked the beginning of my free short story. Now, onto my novella, “Love’s Labyrinth”. I am a huge fan of fantasy, and this novella is very close to my heart. It’s set in the far future, on a colonized planet. Humans weren’t doing too well with surviving on it after a crash landing, but the Gods took mercy and intervened, helping them figure it out. The Goddess of Love left behind her magical Labyrinth, where once a year, those who participate get to meet the ones they’re fated to be with. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the ratio of men to women is skewed, so it’s not uncommon with a woman to find more than one mate. As everyone knows, the Goddess makes no mistakes.

unnamed (14)

Blurb:

Auria enters the magical Labyrinth on New Year’s Eve, and its halls guide her to the two men she is fated to be with. Brener has loved her from afar since they were children, and Jhennen is a Warrior-Guard, commanding in personality and intimidating in physical presence. They share a life-changing, passionate night together, but come morning, they must decide if their one-night menage can be the beginning of something new. When trouble threatens to tear Auria away from her life and the two men she is starting to develop feelings for, their connection just might be her only hope for salvation.

X-Rated Excerpt:

Brener’s tongue flicked masterfully on my clit. He knew what he did to me. I held my breath, feeling my insides begin to gather, ready for that final moment.

But just before it came, Brener stopped and jerked back, leaving me alone. My pussy protested, my clit throbbing almost painfully. My eyes flew to him in protest, in supplication, but then my whole being froze.

Brener was sitting back on his heels, his lips wet from his ministrations, his body stiff with shock. The same shock I myself felt, as I stared up at the stranger that seemed to have appeared from nowhere.

He was gigantic, appearing to loom like a mountain from my prone position. Whereas Brener had an athlete’s body, this stranger had a warrior’s body with a broad back and wider hips and his entire physique encased in bulky muscle. Blond hair, almost white, was pulled back in a long ponytail—I could see its bottom reached to his lower back. My eyes flew to his face, his cold, pale blue eyes. He seemed to regard me with some measure of amusement. A long pale scar saved his face from being almost pretty, as did the rough bump in his aquiline nose. Leaning against the green wall of the Labyrinth with one shoulder, his relaxed stance was at complete odds with the tension that gripped me.

I gasped and used my hands to cover my breasts, while drawing my legs up to cover my splayed pussy.

Seeing this, he chuckled and shook his head. “No need to cover all the loveliness,” he said, and his words held a hint of an accent, the difference in inflection conveying he was not from our village. It sounded like a northern dialect.

“Who are you?” I could think of nothing else to say in that moment. My heart jumped to action, pounding away like crazy with a surge of adrenaline.

“Jhennen,” he replied, as though we were out to tea, having a pleasant chat. As an afterthought, he added, “Jhennen Vayment.”

“What are you doing here?” Brener almost growled, coming to his feet now, bristling. With them standing, it was clear Jhennen was a couple heads taller. All the more sweet that Brener thought to protect me from him, dwarfed as he was by this man, who looked battle-trained and used to combat.

“I suppose the same thing as you are,” Jhennen drawled out almost carelessly. His stance was nonthreatening, but his eyes glinted with definite danger. “The Goddess brought me here, same as you. So stand down, and either watch or participate, your choice.”

Outraged, I sputtered, and would have flown at him to slap that presumptuous smile off his face, but remembering my complete nakedness, I stayed put. “What do you mean, participate?”

“Is it the word or the concept you’re not clear on?” He turned to me now, his tone light.

“You’re not participating in anything here, or with anyone here. Feel free to turn about and go back the way you came,” I shot back, angry now.

“I think not. The Goddess doesn’t make mistakes, and to be honest, I hoped we’d cross paths here.”

About Ela Stein:

Reading was my entertainment and salvation as a child, and it transferred into a passion for writing. I am still very much a reader, and love many different genres, from erotic romance, to fantasy (and dark fantasy… Game of Thrones, anyone?), to historical fiction, and that love is reflected in my own writing as well (I don’t do contemporary very often). If you’d like to learn more about me, or chat about books and life, you can find me all over the web. I’d love to get to know all of you, and even though my blog is new, I post regularly and update on life and my writing progress. Thanks so much for stopping by today and reading. Click to see on the Inside Looks here at SJs

It’s lucky treat day. I have beautiful Elyzbeth M. Valey talking about her naughty fairy tales, including her latest release. Plus, she’s giving away an Amazon Gift Card. Enjoy!

Greetings lovelies! Today I´m here to present my latest novel The Three Thieves and The Dom, book 3 in The Witches’ Mischief Series.

Do you like fairy tales? This series is a collection of Fairy Tales turned Naughty. Book one, The Golden Cock was inspired by The Golden Goose, Book 2, Blind Beauty, was loosely based on The Ugly Duckling and the latest addition, The Three Thieves and The Dom is based on The Three Little Pigs.

WM1to3

Though each novel can be read as a standalone, you will find that there are two recurring characters: Soussanna and Morgana, the witches.

For centuries Soussanna Wiles has created strife in the world, but her powers have unleashed a force that can only be contained with the help of another: her daughter, Morgana. Now, the darkness is coming and the women must unite forces to fight against it with the strongest magic ever known: love.

But will it be too late?

Excerpt:

“Do you remember our first time together, little angel?”

“Yes, Master Conall.”

“Were you frightened then?”

She shook her head. “No sir, I was excited.”

Conall leaned into her, brushing his lips against her neck and causing goose bumps to rise on her flesh. “I was too.” He breathed in deeply, as if committing her fragrance to memory. His tongue swirled around the outer shell of her ear and she arched her body into his.

“So responsive, always so responsive. I want to fuck you, Gracie. Hard and fast because I want to punish your pussy for leaving me bereft.”

Grace moaned. The loud sound echoed in her ears. Panicked, she pushed him, desperate to escape from the clutches he had on her heart and soul. With ease, Conall captured her hands in his, binding her with his strength. Grace panted.  Liquid coated her pussy as her gaze found his.

“You want it too,” he said. “Are you wet?”

Grace swallowed. She couldn’t lie to him, but she could choose not to answer.

Conall smirked. “I know you are, angel.” Slowly, he lowered her hands and pressed them against his groin. Instinctively, she curled her fingers around his hard length. Conall groaned. “You want this as bad as I do.”

“No. I can’t.” Grace forced her hands away from his erection. A growl-like sound burst through his lips, catching her off guard. Grace yelped as he pulled her hair, sharply drawing her head back.

“Cannot or will not?” His passion-filled gaze flitted over her face for an instant. “Never mind,” he snarled. His lips slammed against hers in a punishing kiss that took the air from her lungs. He kept his hand on her hair so that she couldn’t move, controlling their kiss. She could only comply to his sensual touch, and that was all she wanted to do. His kiss deepened, his tongue seeking out hers in hard, angry swipes full of longing and unspent desire. Grace moaned loudly, as with his other hand he found her breast and roughly massaged it through her clothes. Abruptly, he pulled back.

“Angel, little angel of my heart. Will you not tell me why you left?”

“No.”

Conall’s face transformed. His grin turned feral as his eyes narrowed, a fiendish spark in their depths.

“Then I will draw it out of you. I will kiss, lick, and make you scream out the truth.”

He punctuated each word by running his fingers across her chest and causing shiver after shiver to rack her form. Wetness slid between her thighs and her breasts ached for his touch. She had to get away from him. Unlike Isidora or Penelope, Grace knew that she was the weakest of them. She was like a house made of straw, one that could be thrown down by the wind in a jiffy. She could not allow it. She had promised Penelope to keep her secret, and she would.

Conall’s hand dipped lower, finding her nipple and pinching the hardened nub.

“Would you look at that? It’s already eager for my touch.”

Somehow, he managed to pull out her breast. Grace watched paralyzed as he leaned into her. His lips formed an O around the wrinkled flesh. His tongue swiped over it and her body arched automatically, her hands clutching onto his shoulder for support. His mouth closed hard over her nipple, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin, and she screamed. Conall’s hands grasped her bottom, drawing her into him as he fervently sucked on her breast.

“Do you feel it? My hard cock pressed against you? Waiting for your hot pussy to wrap around it like the glove you wear over your hand. My little angel, you always enjoyed serving me. Whatever I asked, you did without question and always with utter pleasure. Will you do so now?” He pulled out her other breast, twisting the nipple between thumb and forefinger.

“Master Conall, please.”

“Tell me, Grace.” He pinched harder. Tears gathered at the back of her eyes as pain collided with pleasure and the desire to tell him all.

“I cannot.”

“Yes, you can.”

She was unable to stop him as he hitched her skirts to her waist and found her wet folds.

“Oh God, Grace.” His voice broke, and for the first time ever she realized how affected he was by the situation.  “I want to fuck you, Grace. I want to stick my hard rod up your warm, wet pussy. I want to taste you, love. I want to hear you scream my name as you fall from heaven.” He pushed two fingers deep into her. Grace’s legs trembled.

“Tell me,” he urged, pumping them in and out of her.

“I cannot, I don’t—”

“Yes?” A third finger wound its way inside of her and she threw her head back, giving in to the rising pleasure.

They froze at the sound of a loud knock at the door.

Welcome friends old and new. I’m glad you came. Today, I’m sharing from the second in my Love Projects series, TAKING COURAGE.

LAST WEEK: Janna entered a BDSM club where she’s expected as a guest. She tried to pay attention to the security guard who was reviewing her paperwork when a man entered the club. Once he was identified as a club Master, her thoughts turned all mushy. THIS WEEK: I’ve skipped over a little bit including the note she received from the Mistress responsible for guests at the club. It explained her delay in meeting Janna. The guard speaks first. Enjoy!

“You’ll need to wait here for an escort, unless Master Simon has time to escort you tonight.”

She shoved the note into her purse before it shook and announced her nerves. Her heart stopped mid beat, and she bunched her toes inside her shoes. He was a Master. He’d be perfect. It’s okay if he says no. His wife or girlfriend could be waiting inside. A rejection from a stranger meant nothing. Nothing.

Somebody’s nervous. 😉 So, do you think Master Simon escorts her into the club?

coming-soon 300x450BLURB:

Janna’s ready to make over her life and get out from under the controlling thumb of her father. She doesn’t want another failed arranged marriage. She’s ready to do whatever it takes for the career she wants, enter the lifestyle she craves, and to earn the trust and love of the man that has captured her heart, but heartbreak and career hiccups seem to be her destiny.

Simon’s still recovering after his last submissive lied her way into his life. He’s not ready for Janna and how she pushes against his prejudices. He needs to decide if he’s willing to lose her or if he’ll fight for her love and submission.

ROW80 Check-in #101 My Writing Process

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

My Sisters Demon coverMy fabulous friend, Julie Glover tagged me in this writing process hop a couple of weeks ago. She has a new release, My Sister’s Demon. Here are links to Goodreads and Amazon. It’s definitely worth checking out. 😀

I did a similar writing process post back in February. It was fun to look back at what I was working on then.

executive-assistant 300x200Back then, I was a month away from starting the story that would be accepted into the anthology that’s releasing June 20th! It’s already on Goodreads. Plus, I was also no where near close to having my next release, TAKING COURAGE ready for the send button. Last night, I sent the last set of edits back to my publisher and that story will be releasing very soon.

I can only hope to see just as much progress when I look back at this post a couple months from now.

What am I working on?

Hitting the send/receive button in Outlook hoping my next cover will arrive, lol. I’m working on the final scene in my WIP before I start working on guest posts for my next release.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I love romance and that will always be up front and center in my books. I also enjoy adding a bit of kink to my stories and the D/s relationship hits the spot for me. So far, all of my stories have been about strong career driven women who find their one and only in the middle of their work day. They love their jobs and they’re passionate about their men. Yes, my leading ladies are lucky, but I make them work for each of their happy endings.

Why do I write what I do?

I write what I like to read. It’s that simple. I love hot romances. I love finding broken hearts and gluing them back together. It’s what I do and I love it.

How does my writing process work?

Once the first draft is done, a long series of read throughs begin. The first couple of passes I edit for story arch and then character arch. I usually add several thousand words during these read throughs. The last couple of passes are for sentence structure and anything else I find that I can tighten. Once my betas offer their feedback, it’s back to the read throughs until the manuscripts shines and then I hit send.

I’m mostly a plotter, but I pantsy my way through each book. Until I’m done with that last read through, you never know what I might change.

I’m tagging Denise D. Young, Beth Camp, and Elizabeth Anne Mitchell to continue this writing process hop.

The Goals – week-8 results

  • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters-  done.
  • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting- done. The plans for my WIP were interrupted on Monday morning when my edits arrived for TAKING COURAGE. It took me four intense days to go through the edits, add to a couple of scenes, add an epilogue, and do one last slow read through. On Friday, I opened my WIP and read through the new scene. Then late yesterday, I received the last set of edits. Did I go to sleep or did I open it? Of course I opened it, lol. It took me no time to go through her latest edits. I reread the passages that worried me and added a word that woke me up in the middle of the night. That one word clarified something in the epilogue. So glad I remembered. Yesterday, I did get back to the WIP. The final scene isn’t done, but it’s close.
  • Take care of and be kind to myself (start w/ a relaxing ritual, the healthy journey, and daily breaks from technology)- kind of done. It was an intense week. The daily breaks didn’t happen. But, I did see Lucius and The Head and the Heart this week at our local State Theatre. Wow. What a show. They gave me plot bunnies for three books. Amazing. Got to love live music and a midweek date with the hubs.

Mid Week Tease – Love Me Now

Mid Week Tease – Love Me Now

MidWeekTeaseWelcome to hump day my friends. Thank you to the beautiful Sandra Bunino for bringing us together.

This week, I’m sharing more from my flash fiction series, the love story of Roxanne and Jonathon.

Last Week: I shared the first sign that everything is not as it seems. Today’s tease occurs a few weeks later. They’re officially on the run from the fates. Let’s see what Roxanne thinks of all this running.

____________

RandJ box

 Love Me Now

They’d been running for weeks, never staying more than a night in one place. The stress of the schedule had worn her out. Jonathon was once again packing their bags. Tonight, they’d start traveling east.

Roxanne looked out the hotel window. The streets were filled with folks enjoying the sunny spring day. A group had gathered around the fountain. They seemed not to have a care in the world.

“Can’t we stay for one more night? We only got to Scotland yesterday.” She ran her finger along the dew on the window.

“It’s too much of a risk. They’ll find us if we linger.”

“Jonathon.” She waited a heartbeat, letting him finish folding one more shirt. Waiting for his attention burned a hole straight through her heart. She wanted to rip the shirt in two. “Jonathon,” she cried out.

He carefully set the shirt in the bag and sat on the edge of the bed. “I’m sorry, honey. I don’t know what else to do. I won’t lose you.”

“If all we do is run, then they’ve already won.” She knelt at his feet and took hold of his hands. “I love you. I want to live my life with you. I want us to live.”

“You’re right.” He stood, took hold of her nape, and pulled her to him.

“Oh.” She pressed her body against him as heat rushed over her.

“Even if we only have one more day together, I want to fill it by looking into your eyes, kissing your sweet lips.” He claimed her mouth, tangled his tongue with hers, and then kissed a trail to her ear. “And feeling your sweet heat gripping me.”

“Oh, Jonathon.” She clung to him.

“Thank you for reminding me our love is now.”

I have a new guest for you today, Casey Moss. She’s is fellow Evernight Publishing author and a participant in the Mid Week Tease. I love her teases. So, when her latest book released, I jumped at the chance to have her here. I had her answer a couple questions so we can get to know her better.

Welcome, Casey! I’m so glad you’re here. I want you comfortable. So, let’s start with you picturing your favorite place in the world. Now, can you tell us a little bit about the place you’ve pictured?

I love the beach. Any beach really from the white sand, turquoise waters, palm trees swaying in a gentle breeze ones to the feisty northern pacific coast beaches with the chilling breezes, rocky coves and deep blue waters. Yet somehow I ended up living in the desert.

Lol, I love the beach too. The moving water always calms my nerves. Tell us about yourself: Who are you and why did you start writing? Also, when did you first consider yourself a writer?

Currently a resident of the hot, high desert in the southwest, I knew I wanted to write at a young age, as early as I learned to read, cooking up stories to entertain myself in the rural area I had lived in. But I took a roundabout way to settle down as a fiction writer, having worked in the corporate and real estate realms writing newspaper articles, press releases, corporate newsletters, etc. Now that I’m settled in the desert, I’ve returned to my first love: creative writing.

I received “the calling” to be a writer in the sixth grade, though I had been writing earlier than that and always had a sense that’s what I’d do when I grew up. Back in middle school, I remember getting an A on an English project and that’s when my inner voice/sixth sense said I would definitely write for a living.

I’ve been studying the craft of writing since my early teens. It started with working on the school newspaper in middle school to creative writing classes and Teens Art Festivals in high school. I received my BA in Communications, Information and Library Studies from Rutgers College with a strong concentration in English Lit/Writing and Interpersonal Communications/PR. Studying under the mentorship of Terri Valentine (author of ‘Sands of Time,’ a Zebra Historical Romance), I honed my novel writing skills. Now I find myself taking the occasional online class and devouring all the writing how-to books I can get my hands on.

What do you do when you’re not Writing:

When I’m not working at my computer cooking up another tale, I can be found hanging out with my husband and cat, reading a book, chillin’ in front of the TV, or working on a craft project. I’ve also been known to play WOW and other computer games.

Describe your writing space.

I have a room in the house that’s dedicated for me. I have a huge desk with cubby holes, cabinets and a drawer. My monitor and screen is on it and the computer tower is on a tall shelving unit on the left of the desk. On the right side of the desk, there’s a bookcase on top of a two drawer filing cabinet. Behind me, I have a fouton couch that I’ll crash out on if it’s late at night (or in the early morning) and I’ve been writing and don’t want to disturb hubby by crawling into bed and having the cat announce my presence. Hell, I’ll even crash on the couch during the day if I need a nap. I have a second monitor that doubles as my television on the filing cabinet to my right. There’s a Queen Anne table which functions as an altar and houses my incense and candles to my left. Let’s not forget my closet that’s full of craft material, my print books I use for signings/sales, and yarn…lots and lots of yarn…for when I get in the mood to crochet. Print outs of some of my book covers are framed and hanging on the walls as are my college degree and writing courses certificates. Oh, and I have a three drawer plastic container tower which has a bunch of books in it. More books fill the bookcase and line the top of my desk.

Now that sounds like a place I could get comfortable in. 🙂 Which one of your characters would you most like to meet in real life?

As far as a male character goes, I’d love to meet JT. He makes a brief appearance in Open World and will be one of the main protagonists in the next C.O.V.E.N. book. When it comes to female characters, I’d like to meet Cassandra. She’s in Open World and will be one of the main protagonists in the book after JT’s.

What is your favorite music (genre/artist/album/song)?

My favorite music group is Rush. As for listening to music when I write, I’ll listen to spa music, alternative or country.

Rush! Wahoo. I thought I was the only girl who enjoyed them, lol. Tell us a bit about the projects you’re working on now?

I’m working on the next books in the C.O.V.E.N. world. So far there are four more planned for after Open World. I have a long story arc weaving through all the stories along with whatever the characters are experiencing in the game & 3D worlds in each book.

Speaking of Open World, here’s the book information…

Now, when it comes to Open World, it’s actually made up of parts from two novellas that had been previously published. Those stories were my very first published ones released in 2008 under my alter ego’s name. A few years ago, I received the rights back on them, and they sat in a file until this year. There’s been some major work done to revamp them from a sci-fi’ish plot to the computer gaming one present in the book today. I am so excited these stories, and more to come in the C.O.V.E.N. world, have found new life and a great new home with Evernight Publishing.

In the story, Open World, some of the employees of I-D-8 have joined together for a LAN party to test the game. For definitions on the computer gaming term: open world, check out http://www.techopedia.com/definition/3952/sandbox-gaming).

Blurb

The world has broken out in wars. Las Vegas has been ravaged by chemical warfare and is now home to several clans and creatures.

Welcome to I-D-8 Entertainment’s newest game: Clans of Vegas—Endless Night.

Friends and family have gathered for a crunch time playtest of C.O.V.E.N.. When a horrible thunderstorm hits, everyone’s sucked into the game for real. In the MMORPG, Hope Collins is kidnapped by Buzz and forced to submit to his whims. Her boyfriend, Alden, has to delay his quest of defeating a clan’s prince to save her, but time and circumstance don’t seem to be on his side. Faith Collins is bombarded by strange dreams brought on by Buzz. Her boyfriend, Tavis, learns to dream walk, but can he help break the spell she’s under and save her before she’s lost to him?

C.O.V.E.N. is more than just a game. It’s a whole other world.

Excerpt

“You’re right. But you don’t know how much I want you right now. I want to feel you against me, your hot slick body sliding against mine.” To bring the point home, she stepped forward and laid her hand on the bulge in his pants. Just as she expected, it was hard.

He detached her hand from him and held it. “You know we can’t do anything right now. Not with the LAN party about to get underway.”

Hope frowned and batted her eyelashes. “Can’t I have even a little kiss?”

As she desired, Den yanked her against his body, cupping a breast in his hand, and claimed her mouth. With a happy sigh, she relaxed and molded into him. His mouth sensuously moved upon hers and, when it parted, she followed suit, allowing his tongue access to search and conquer. Hungrily, wanting him more than ever, she matched his movements, undoing his ponytail and running her fingers through his long, soft hair, reveling in its silkiness. She moved her hand down to the front of his pants where she’d been before. Again she cradled him and massaged his cock through his shorts. His tongue delved deeper into her mouth. His fingers tweaked the growing nipple beneath her shirt and bra.

Happiness, combined with a feeling of forbidden pleasure, created a stormy sea of sensation within her. She was lost and found in his kiss. With him she truly believed she was safe, secure…cherished. When he pulled away and looked down upon her, she knew she had found her prince charming, her proverbial knight in shining armor.

Den clasped her in his arms. She nuzzled her cheek along his chest again and, as she gazed upon the community’s pool area, movement caught her attention. She could have sworn she saw Mr. Jenkins duck behind the corner of the building.

Weekend Writing Warriors – Love Projects 2!

Click the logo for the Weekend Writing Warriors blog

I’m back! I’ve so missed being a part of the WeWriWa ritual and I’m excited to be back. I did use my time wisely though and am happy to report I have TWO books coming soon.

Today, I’m sharing from the 2nd in my Love Projects series which is releasing very soon. Here’s the basics: When Janna’s new life threatens to break apart, she must decide if it’s best to run home or to stay and battle for the career and man she doesn’t want to live without.

Janna’s story starts as she enters a BDSM club as a guest. She’s trying to pay attention to the security guard reviewing her paperwork when a man enters the club. Once he’s identified as a club Master, Janna’s brain turns mushy. 😉 In this 8 you’ll see why. Enjoy!

The man stopped next to her, and her ability to play cool faltered. A Master. She took a deep breath and drank him in, starting with his dark boots of luscious black leather. Her gaze took the scenic route along his legs, drank in his firm body, to his broad chest encased in a casual black shirt.

“Can I see your ID?”

She continued her perusal of the Master and found the hard angle of his jaw and stopped at his striking green eyes, which were set directly on her. She couldn’t move. With his look alone, he commanded her attention.

Something tells me Janna has no idea she’s be asked a question. Lol. So, do you think she gets into the club?

Thank you so much for visiting me, it means a lot to me that you took the time to visit my little place on the web. Don’t forget to check out the other Weekend Warriors, the Snippet Sunday Facebook Group, and Saturday Spankings too.

ROW80 Check-in #100 Fun with Facebook Parties

The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

I worked my tuchus off this week. Wow. From the evil day job, last meeting for my volunteer job, kid activities, gardening, edits, and my first ever Facebook party. I was kind of a crazy woman, but it was a whole lot of fun.

Once my edits arrived, during an already busy week, I knew I wouldn’t be able to make progress on the WIP. I accepted it and enjoyed my week. Sure, I’d hoped to have the WIP ready for another beta read by now, but that’s okay. I did promise my WIP I’d attempt to finish its last scene before I started working on guest posts. That’s a promise I’ll need to deliver on this week.

One of the first friends I made on-line when I started this writing journey, Ella Jade, is celebrating her third publishing anniversary this weekend. She’s a fabulous writer and I love her books. They always go on my must read list. She invited me to host an hour of her Facebook party which I did on Friday night. I had several weeks to plan, but right until the last minute, I was still tweaking my posts. I was so nervous. I worried her guests might not care for what I’d planned to share.

What if no one commented on my posts???

I threw my nerves out the window and went for it. Sure enough, people commented and I had a great time. Made several new friends too. Double score!

There in a nut shell has been my experience on this writing journey: nerves ignored and going for it. Not everyone will like my posts or my books and that’s okay. Not everyone is my target reader. I do need to keep putting myself out there so my target readers can find me. I also need to keep studying my craft, and working to put better and better books on the virtual shelves.

Here’s to 100 more check-ins 😀

The Goals – week-7 results

  • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters-  done.
  • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting- done. No progress on the WIP, but I worked through edits from my editor and I’m almost finished with my last slow read through. (Update!: I finished the read through late last night *I’m dancing* Gosh, I love that story.)
  • Take care of and be kind to myself (start w/ a relaxing ritual, the healthy journey, and daily breaks from technology)- done. By not stressing about what I wouldn’t be able to get to, I gave myself permission to live in the moment. Queue the happy music.

My Book Crush with Terran (Breeder 2) by Cara Bristol

My Book Crush with Terran (Breeder 2) by Cara Bristol

The highly anticipated second book in Cara Bristol‘s Breeder series released a couple weeks ago. I loved the first book in this series, but could the second book give me the same sense of wonder and suspense that happens when you fall in love in a sci-fi world? The answer is YES!

I’m in love with this series because it mixes so many things I love. It’s a great story with romance that’s spanking hot and it’s all mixed in a sci-fi world that doesn’t overwhelm, but adds an undeniable uniqueness.

You can read more about my reading experience in my review on Goodreads.

Terran has been climbing the Amazon charts too. It’s simply a great read that’s not to be missed.

Terran (Breeder 2)

After fleeing loneliness and heartache on Terra, Tara Diehl has adjusted to male-dominated Parseon better than most vendors–until she is kidnapped by Alpha Marlix, one of the five rulers of the planet. At first she’s terrified of her tall, muscled abductor, especially when he doesn’t hesitate to quell her struggle for freedom with a little corporal discipline. After all her methods and ploys to escape fail, she decides to seduce her way to freedom.

But out of seduction and subterfuge grow a true intimacy that cause Marlix and Tara to take action that drives Parseon to the brink of civil war, and threatens not only their relationship, but also their lives.

Terran, the second book in the Breeder sci-fi series, is a “capture” romance involving a domineering but hunky alien, and a female with a bad dye job and an even worse attitude.

EXCERPT:

If people gawked, she did not notice. Panic blinded Tara to all but instinct as she tore through the Bazaar. Suck it up. Suck it up. Sobs of relief convulsed in her throat when her feet found their way to her shop. Perched on a counter stool eating lunch, Ramon leaped to his feet as she stumbled in.
“My God, Tara! What the hell happened?” He grabbed a bolt of flannel off its stand and threw it around her, then hugged her to his chest.
Unable to stop crying, she heaved and shuddered as Ramon rocked her and swore under his breath.
“I th-thought it w-would be o-o-okay. I only went out-outside to check.”
Ramon stiffened.
“They grabbed me,” she sobbed.
“They?”
“Th-three males.”
“F***,” he swore, his voice laden with concern. He did not need to say I-told-you-so to remind Tara how foolish she’d been. “We need to call Security. The Terran Embassy.”
She shook her head. “No.” The Terrans held little authority and couldn’t do anything. Parseon Security did have power but would do nothing. Nor could she endure an interrogation by males cut from the same cloth as her attackers. Parseon did not consider sexual assault a crime but rather a sport, which was why the treaty attempted to protect its female vendors by insisting they travel with an escort. By venturing into the Market alone, she had disobeyed the rules intended to protect her.
“Yes. My God, Tara, you were attacked.” He dropped his voice to a hoarse whisper. “Did they rape you?”
“No,” she lied. She squeezed her eyes shut against Ramon’s shoulder. She’d been pinned to the ground. They had sodomized her with their fingers–they just hadn’t gotten around to the rest of it, because the Commander had intervened. She recalled his growl, his shadow. The boot on her back had lifted, and her attacker had flown through the air. She’d heard a thud and a snap, and then the pounding of feet as the other two attackers had scrambled away.
Only Alpha remained. Though he’d saved her, the rage and intent to harm that enlarged his already huge body had terrified her, and she’d fled, as much from him as the attack.
“You’re bleeding,” Ramon said, and she became aware of searing pain in her legs, back, and chest.
They’d cut her when they had sliced at her clothing and had pummeled her with their fists and feet. “You need medical attention. I’m calling Security.”
“No!” came a gravelly shout.
Ramon started, but Tara did not. Hadn’t she known all along he would follow her?
“I will handle this.” There was no mistaking the threat in the gaze the Alpha cast upon Ramon. “Leave us.”
A brave Ramon shook his head. “No, I’m staying.”
Aggression shimmered off the Commander in waves. Ramon was wiry but little match for most men on Terra, let alone an Alpha. She had little doubt how he would fare in a confrontation. Again, she pictured her attacker sailing through the air as if the Commander had thrown a stuffed toy and not a live adult male.
She opened her mouth to reassure her shop mate she would be okay, but before she could speak, the Commander yanked her out of Ramon’s protective embrace and slung her over his shoulder. The Alpha stalked out of her shop into the Bazaar.

Mid Week Tease – Safety First

MidWeekTeaseWelcome to hump day my friends. Thank you to the fabulous Sandra Bunino for bringing us together.

This week, I’m sharing more from my flash fiction series, the love story of Roxanne and Jonathon.

Last Week: I shared a happy in love moment. Today’s tease occurs a few weeks later. It’s the first sign that everything is not as it seems.

“Jonathon, look. He has little pictures back here.” Roxanne dragged her gaze over each little beauty. Strong arms wrapped around her and Jonathon snuggled close. His public displays of affection were just one of the many reasons she loved about him.

Love.

She swayed as warmth spread through her limbs. In such a short time, Jonathon had become a life necessity. She could no longer imagine life without him.

“Is it odd that the photographer has captured so many of the places we’ve been?”

Jonathon stilled.

“What is it, honey?”

“It is strange and I’m not sure what to make of it.” He looked towards the back of the shop. The door opened to a little room, but no door, just a barred window.

“You’re starting to scare me. What’s going on?” She pulled at his arms and finally grabbed hold of his chin. “Jonathon?”

“I think we should leave as quietly as we came in. No eye contact with the clerk, okay?”

“Fine, but then you need to tell me what’s going on.”

He leaned in and gave her a sweet chasted kiss. “Fine, but I want you safe first.”
