Welcome to hump day my friends. Thank you to the amazing Sandra Bunino for bringing us together.
Today, I’m sharing from my new release, In the Blind.
Last Time: Jane and Rob are sharing a ride home from his interview. Rob moved in for a kiss and it was magic, but then Jane pushed him away. This Week: I’ve skipped nothing and you’ll find out if she thinks better of her decision or if she continues down her road alone. Enjoy.
______________
“Let’s close this deal, get you started, and then we’ll see. Okay?”
“If that’s what you want.” He slowly moved back to his side of the car.
“It is.” But it wasn’t. She wanted to kiss him again and her need for him kept growing. She brushed the wrinkles from her skirt. She’d told him no and he’d listened. It was a good thing, but a sad ache, like she’d been denied entry to her favorite show, tore at her resolve.
Her grandpa taught her to take risks and she’d practiced the skill regularly with her business, but she no longer had a desire to risk her heart. Normally, she’d try for at least the middle road, but she didn’t know what else to do at the moment.
She needed a real chance with Rob. She wanted to earn a chance with Keller’s connections. Pushing through this deal and letting the chips fall might be her only chance at both. How else would she ever really know if Rob was over his ex? She tugged at her blouse. The damn thing clung to her, and she needing more room to breathe.
Finally the car pulled to the curb in front of her office building.
“I’ll contact you as soon as I hear from Keller’s office.” She stole one last look at Rob.
“I’ll be waiting.” He didn’t move an inch.
She imagined he was holding himself back, like a caged beast. Her pulse jumped. Instead of giving in, she scooted out of the car, closed the door, and watched the car disappear.
____________
No! Oh, Jane. Who thinks she’s going to regret getting out of the car alone? Good news, you can read this whole story now since the doors to Club Blind are open. Wahoo!
BLURB:
Jane thinks she’s ready to take the risks her business and love life desperately need. Rob’s still punishing himself for a broken relationship that wasn’t meant to last. When the pair let an opportunity pass them by, fate steps in and throws them back together.
An evening of pitch black unrestrained passion at Club Blind opens her eyes to life’s possibilities. Now, if they don’t fight past their personal demons, they might never truly discover what they need most. If they can open their hearts, it might lead them directly to each other where they can discover their truth. If not, they may forever stay in the blind.

I’m with Siobhan. I don’t think he’s given up. Love the teaser, SJ.
If Jane doesn’t regret it, then she’s crazy!! 😉
But I will say that I commend her for walking away, because I don’t if I could have done that! 🙂
Great tease 🙂
Oh S.J.! As soon as the November writing projects slow down on my end, I’m so devouring this! It’s sitting pretty on my Kindle. I check in on it from time to time to make sure it’s still there, waiting for me. Love!!
