Get ready to find your next book boyfriend…
Welcome to the ehome of S.J. Maylee. I’m so glad you stopped by. 🙂 I’m sharing with you my love for Jake Reed from TAKING CHANCES, the first in my Love Projects Series. He’s the kind of man who knows what he wants and vanilla is not it.
When Lydia caught his attention, he was conflicted. He sensed the submissive within her and he wanted to set her free, but they weren’t in the safe arena of his BDSM club of choice, Club Voyage. They were at work.
The simplest things Lydia did pulled his attention away from their project. Just before lunch on their first day working together, she reached forward to the monitor. His gaze landed on the slope of her neck. Here’s a look into his thoughts…
Lucky for us, the road to realization is paved with all kinds of sexual tension. Jake does take a giant chance in this story and it brought Lydia’s fantasies to life. Once she had a taste of Jake and his dominating hand, she was eager for more, but they still needed to complete their project at work…
Oh yes, they sizzle and burn as their love grows. However, once this pair opened themselves to each other, they exposed their wounds…
It’s that need in him that drives Lydia’s passion higher than she’s ever known. I loved writing these two. Jake held my hand throughout their story and I fell in love with him right along with Lydia.
I’m not sharing how their story ends though. You’ll have to read TAKING CHANCES to find out if Lydia gets to keep her one and only.
Jake Reed is one hot hero. He’s a sexy dominating man that knows how to make your fantasies come to life. He’s also worth losing your heart to. I hope you’ll love him as much as I do.

Review from BDSM Book Review: Story Rating: 5 out of 5 paddles & Sting Factor (kink): 5 out of 5 “S.J. Maylee’s story is one of beauty and well researched or perhaps well experienced. The journey that is embarked upon is gently done instead of pushed. Though a short story, this is well developed and the BDSM scenes are well written. It is not often that a short story can convey the beauty that a Dominant and submissive relationship can have.”
Review from Romancing the Book: “The chemistry between Jake and Lydia is blistering. The sex scenes were scorching.”

Thank you for the blog hop. What makes me fall in love is knowing that the person I’m with always has my back. To trust him enough to give him my heart and to cherish it.
lavidabrisco(at)yahoo(dot)com
You’re most welcome. Trust. Yes, that’s a big one with me too. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
That I can rely on him. And of course he loves me unconditionally.
novella-group(at)mail.com
Hi, Jolanda. Unconditional love is priceless. Great answer. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
That’s a tough question. For me it’s a handful of small things but I would say that what makes me fall in love is knowing that he knows me well enough to understand when I can handle problems on my own and when he needs to step in and say “I’ll take it from here, you’ve had enough.” To me that would tell me that he pays attention to every detail of my personality, that he listens to what I say and that he truly wants to care for me without smothering my sense of independence.
adria(.)rose_03 at yahoo(.)com
Listening is so important and you’re right, we don’t need them to smother. Very good answer, Adriana. Thanks for hopping. 🙂
Thank you for doing this! When I was younger it was bad boys mainly to upset my parents but as I got older I fell in love with a sexy military man who has strong family values, he listens and he supports me in all my decisions even if he may not agree with them. And I adore his silly sense of humor.
Kathryn Laprade
kittyissweet@gmail.com
You’re most welcome, Kathryn. Yes, I remember my bad boy too. 😉 A military man, you are a lucky girl. Please tell him I said thank you for his service and thank you for visiting.
Love is hard to define. That is why our heart often leads us to the wronge person. But trust and kindness will draw me to someone.
And sometimes our heart leads us to someone we don’t recognize as our mate. Well, at least not at first. 😉 Love is a tricky one for sure. Yes, trust and kindness are big in my book. Thanks for visiting me and Jake.
Adding my email debby236 at hotmail dot com
Thanks, Debra. 🙂
What made me fall in love was that he was honest and loved me for me without wanting me to change. PlumCrazie@ymail.com
Good one, Thresa. You sound like a lucky girl. Thanks for stopping in. 🙂
Honesty, someone that love my little boy and my pup as their own, funny, sweet and all around good person thanks. M8231m05@gmail.com
Honesty is huge. My man is sweet and funny. So, those traits definitely score with me too. Gots to love your little boy and pup. Great answer, Maggie. 🙂
Being kind and willing to help, mostly…Sometimes (even often) teasing me but never in a ‘bully’ way. Having fun together and having something common we enjoy doing is always preferable as well 🙂
shantih (at) hotmail (dot) it
I hear a lot of life in your answer and that’s so important. Love the one you’re with and enjoy life with them too. Love it. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
I’ve been married for 20 years now. I fell in love with my husband because he was my best friend. So I guess friendship makes me fall in love.
kesummer69 (at) gmail (dot) com
Congratulations on your 20 years, Kelsey. We just hit 14. My husband is my best friend too. Aw! 🙂
Being a friend, a lover yes but having that ability to just let you vent and cry and be there no matter what, I fell in love with my best friend 8 years ago and were still going strong I wouldn’t change anything, well maybe us getting married sometime soon but I want our life to get started first.
xyoursohardcorex@aol.com
Sounds like your happily ever after is on its way. I’m so happy for you. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
I think it is the little things. Taking the time to cook dinner with me, doing something simple but thoughtful. Being a really sweet guy overall wins me over
Little things are so important and make such a difference. Very sweet. 🙂 Thanks for hopping, Shannon.
Someone who can make me laugh when it is the last thing I want to do. 🙂
Laughter is priceless, especially when someone knows you need it. Thanks for stopping by, Karen. 🙂
A guy’s devotion, sense of humor, supportiveness, and willingness to be vulnerable all appeal!
vitajex(At)Aol(Dot)com
Yes, yes, and yes. I totally agree, Trix. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
A sense of humour with some sensitivity made me fall in love.
Aw. That’s sweet, Kim. 🙂 Thanks for hopping.
That is a hard question. What makes me fall in love….. a sense of humor. My hubby has the best sense of humor and it part of the reason I fell for him. Thanks for the chance to win!
You’re welcome and you’re right. It is a hard question, but a sense of humor always wins with me too. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
Tough question. What makes me fall in love is when I can’t imagine spending one night away from the man.
rockybatt@gmail.com
That’s a fabulous moment. I’ve lived it and I love getting my characters to that moment too. Great answer. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
having similar interests, sense of humour, sexy eyes
leetee2007@hotmail.com
The eyes. Yes, that’s an important one as is having things in common and being able to laugh. Great combination. 🙂 Thanks for visiting.
I usually fall for guys that are my friends. We have to get along, & have a sense of humour,… someone who is there for me through the good & the bad. Someone that is loving & caring & loyal. Those are the guys I fall in love with. ❤
Thanks for the giveaway!
I hope you have a great weekend! =)
Brandi
BLeigh1130 at yahoo dot com
You’re welcome and thank you. I hope you’re having a great weekend too. Friends to lovers. I love those stories and when it happens in real life, yum! 😀 Thanks for hopping, Brandi.
It’s how they make me feel I guess. If I’m feeling great then it’s all good.
Oh, that feeling is something. The heart knows, right? Love it when my characters just know. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
It’s a lot of things. But kindness and a sense of humor are a good place to start. 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway!

You’re most welcome. Respect is huge. Great answer. Thanks for hopping. 🙂
The way he listened to me and laughed at my jokes.
Bookworm (dot) judy (at) gmail (dot) com
He has to listen and the laughing at your jokes is such a great bonus. You’ll have to tell me a joke sometime. 🙂 Thanks for visiting me.
If he sees me and/or my family and/or friends when we’re not at our best, and sticks around anyway – that’s when I know he’s a keeper! (jen — jenpowell.com) Missed you on ROW80 this week, but this was fun and something to think about!
Hi, Jennettee!! Yes, it felt weird to not do a ROW80 post yesterday, but I’m so glad I visited you. Your puppy pictures are priceless and I love cheering you on.
Agree, he’d be a definite keeper. This is exactly what my hero does in my next book, the follow-up to Taking Chances. I’m so glad you stopped in. See you next Sunday. 🙂
I just love your boos they are amazing and I’m always on the lookout for new ones! Thanks for sharing Jke with us he is amazing!
What makes me fall in love with someone? i think alot of things combined. Having fun and letting go with someone, having patience with me when I’m not at my best, always being there for me, respect, and of course the physical part as well.
amybowens34@yahoo.com
Aw! You are the sweetest, Amy. I have two books coming soon. One in May and another in June! 🙂
Being able to let go is quite something. Yes, can’t forget about the physical parts. 😉 Fabulous answer, Amy. Thanks for hopping.
Having him support me being myself….and chemestry.
Thanks for participating in the hop!
simondex68 (at) gmail dot com
You’re most welcome, Kris. Agreed, both of those are so important. Thanks for visiting me and Jake. 🙂
First for foremost for me is reciprocity, I want someone to stand next to me, not in front or behind. To love life with me. And a great sense of humor doesn’t hurt.
Shannon
sabai30705(at)yahoo(dot)com
That’s a great answer, Shannon. Thanks for hopping. 🙂
What makes me fall in love would be someone who accepts me faults and all and who is faithful.
jmesparza821 at gmail dot com
Yes. I love it. That’s such a sweet answer. Thanks for playing along. 🙂
It’s all about chemistry…..not just sexual, but someone that “gets” me, makes me laugh and we can talk about anything and everything without having to work at it.
Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
elizabeth(at)bookattict(dot)com
That is some truth right there. Love showing chemistry with my characters. It’s a beautiful thing to see come alive on the page. Great answer, Elizabeth. 🙂

Genuine. <- there's a key trait right there. Great answer.
Honesty, kindness, dependability, respect, and a great sense of humor are important qualities for a loving relationship. Thanks for the great giveaway!
bhometchko(at)hotmail(dot)com
You’re most welcome, BookLady. 🙂 Love your list. Thanks for visiting.
Though one… But I think, above all, honesty. Relying is, for me, the start of something bigger – that along with the small things (the way he moves, talks and smile, for example) – I’m falling already 😉
alifeamongbooks[at]gmail.com
It is a tough one, but you’ve answered it very well. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
Has to be a good person.
Most definitely. Thanks for visiting. 🙂
He’s got to be sensitive to my feelings and respectful to others.
thebigbluewall77 (at) gmail (dot) com
Those are definitely must haves. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Maybe introverted guys who shy away from falling in love with me attracts me the most and makes to fall in love with them instantly.
Oh. Interesting, Trista. Thanks for hopping. 🙂
couldn’t tell ya don’t know – regnod(at)yahoo(d0t)com
You know, I’ve said that quite a lot myself, lol. Thanks for playing along anyways. 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway! I don’t know why I fall in love… I think if we have some of the same hobbies, if we can laugh together and I can tell him anything, if I have complete confidence in him then I know I’m in love 🙂
alinutza4u2004[at]yahoo[dot]co[dot]uk
You’re most welcome, Aly. Sometimes it is a mystery and sometimes it just works. It can be simple as that. Great answer. Thanks for hopping. 🙂
There are so many things that contribute to it for me. I love a sense of humor, loyalty, caring, protective of their family and more. 😉
Great question though. Thank you for sharing and participating in the hop.
trb0917 at gmail dot com
You’re so right, Tina. It’s a lot of things. Great answer. Thanks for hopping. 🙂
