Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.
Plus, we’re not just flashing today. A bunch of us are celebrating the season with a Christmas Blog Hop starting today through December 16th.
“Is there anyone in here? Call out.”
She’d yet to gather all her memories and she’d be damned if she’d call out before she was ready.
The door behind her cracked and split in two. She turned to her bag and shoved in the picture of her parents.
“The fire’s coming. Let’s go.”
“Not yet.” This fucking world had taken enough from her. “Just one more picture, please.”
He hauled her over his shoulder and tipped her world over. “It’s not worth losing you.”
She wiggled and swung her bag at him.
He slapped her ass. “Enough, I’ve got you.”

BLURB:
Lydia’s father walked away from her when she was eight. She’s struggled to not let him affect her, but fears she wasn’t loveable enough to make him stay. Jake wants to love one woman, but after scaring the last woman he met outside of the club, he doubts he deserves the right. She protects her heart by sticking with her fantasies and he lives by a set of rules that excludes women who choose a vanilla lifestyle.
The two will be kept in a conference room working together until their special project is complete. If Lydia and Jake hold tight to their bland lives, they’ll always yearn for love that is out of reach. Together they find common ground, passion, and a reason to take chances. Once they discover the grand possibilities of the love they desire, they find themselves in the very place they tried never to be again, facing unguaranteed loved.

Great reviews on Goodreads, on my TBR. Thx for the giveaway!
This was fun thank you.
Oh this one brings up lots of questions about her past and how she lost her parents. Good Flash!
Loved your take on it, S.J. 🙂
Great flash. You have some strong characters here to build with
Enjoyed the flash and Taking Chances!!
I loved what you did with this one, SJ. I really felt her desperation and not giving into destiny one more time. I see her furious antics to safe her past, no matter what and then his value of rescuing her over her tokens. You built allot of different emotions on multiple levels into this one matter-of-fact teaser. Loved it, really loved it:) xo
love the fun spirit. great flash
The glimpse into her life in so few words was genius. Great post!
I loved this. It gives me so many questions, that I want answered now
Both she and the fireman were strong characters the reader can relate to. I understand her not wanting to leave behind the valuable remembrances. But he’s right. Her life is the most important. But how will she survive with him?
Very well written flash. Loved it

Stubborn woman! Great Flash! I loved how he took control. I bet she’s pissed but he’s right, gathering all her pictures isn’t worth her life. 🙂
Thank you everyone for making this Christmas blog hop so much fun. Congratulations to Naomi for winning my giveaway with her tweet. 😀
