The writing challenge that knows you have a life.

It’s been intense around here lately, compact emotions bursting at the seams. After one of the most profound weekends of my existence, I’m ready to look forward.

We have one month left in 2013 and only a few weeks left in this forth round of eighty days. I’m looking forward to 2014, but I have lots yet to do this year. I have two WIPs that need finishing and polishing and tons of marketing to do.

I need another cup of coffee, lol.

I haven’t started my Christmas shopping, nor have I ordered my Christmas cards.

Yikes!

This month is going to be crazy. I accept that. There’s a lot I’ve had to accept lately. It’s an important thing to do. Once you accept, you can move forward. This is where I want to be, moving forward. Eyes front, Maylee.

Oh! Segue Alert.

How about a look at my next release. I can share my new cover. This made me smile. I hope you like it too.

The Goals – week-8 results

    • Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters- half done.
    • Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting- half done. I finished final edits this week, sent in my dedication (can’t wait to share it), picked my teaser excerpt, and approved my awesome cover art. These final steps were definitely easier the second time around. Bonus, I’m not a newbie, lol. The rest of the week got swallowed by guest post writing, marketing, getting five days of evil day job done in three days, and lots of family time.
    • Take care of and be kind to myself- done. This week was less about the physical care and more about the emotional care and I did hit the mark there. Now, I need to get my focus on the physical side too.

  1. Glad to see you’re taking care of yourself! December’s always crazy, but especially with what you’ve had on your plate – and an upcoming release! Great cover, too. I just started shopping yesterday (thank you, Amazon and Ebay!) – good luck with yours!

    • I just started yesterday. Finally. At least I got a piece of the cyber Monday deals. 🙂 I still have so much to do. Oh boy. Maybe I should start with making the Christmas cookies. 😉

  2. You’ve got so much going on, but I know that’s a good thing for an author — it means you’re writing, editing, publishing, making things happen! Hope you can take some time to enjoy the holiday season. But yeah, I’ll be around to check in and see how you’re doing. Best wishes!

    • Thanks, Julie! I’m going to need your nudges. 🙂

My MIL is coming over for our annual walk among the Christmas lights in the park. I’m so glad she’s still going to come. It’s an important tradition for us to continue. I’m definitely ready for some Christmas cheer.

  3. I know what you mean by busy. Holy moly. I have no idea how I’m managing…well, I’m not really. LOL! Congrats on your upcoming release. I’d love to host you on my site! Anytime! Just let me know. 🙂

  4. being a person who doesn’t do Christmas I don’t have the hustle of the preparations – Lots of Christmas lunches and teas to go to and one to organize for here, for the groups I belong too but theres just my sister and me and Christmas is the time when we can slop around all day doing nothing, so relaxing:) but I do remember the hustle and repeat what others say look after self – there was a message from government during WW2 to mothers, that they were the most important member of family and they must take care of themselves first:) it was a good message then, is a good message now – all the best this week:)

  5. I’m going out to do some Christmas shopping tonight; thankfully, my list is fairly short and some of the gifts have already been bought. My girlfriend says that next year, regardless of what anyone says, she’s starting to Christmas shop in August.

Whatcha thinking?
