Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.
Stacey sat near the edge of the cliff, looking out across the lake that held countless memories. Today would have been their first anniversary. Finally empty of tears, she took in the grandeur of the day. The blue skies stretched far and wide to kiss the edge of the lake. Simply beautiful.
She knew this day would come. When she woke this morning it called to her. He wasn’t coming home.
She closed her eyes, slipped the ring from her finger and tossed it in her purse. Collapsing back onto the grass, she let the memories in, one last time.

Very emotional, even though I’ve been doing too many critiques lately and can’t help picking apart the telling from the showing. 😉 Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, tell and not showing in flashes is definitely something I need to work on. Thank you for reminding it. 🙂
Left me wondering if he died or left her. Sad in any case.
Beautiful and sad. Your excellent flash touched me. I hopoe she can find happiness again
Oh my, what happened to him? Her sadness shows through.
Made me wanting to know what happened to him too? Very intriguing and I really like your details of emotions. Very powerful. 🙂 I could feel her pain and sadness.
