Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.

“The art exhibit opens tonight.” She forced her fingers to relax their grip. She didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of seeing her nerves on edge.
“Fine, what time should I be home?”
“You don’t have to—”
“We agreed to keep up the charade. I’m not going back on my word.”
“Yes, your word.” She wanted to tell him where he could stuff his word.
The kiss they shared a week ago was forgotten and replaced with the cold neglect she’d come to expect. She never wanted him to hate her, but he did and she deserved it.

Good one. You have me curious. Why are they keeping up the charade and what made things go wrong between them? You could extend this flasher 🙂
Ohh wow…I think there is more than they care to admit to…
I don’t know why, but all I could think was….that is SO sad! It felt like the beginning of the end to me…and not a happy one.
No, Kitt, not happy at all. But I have hope that this heroine will be able to pull herself through and find her HEA, she’s just got to. I’m afraid she’s going to have to fight for it, though.
I always like when you have to fight for your HEA. It usually means you appreciate it and don’t take it for granted. Kudos. Very expressive.

Wow, I’m reading this post and I’m just loving it, I have a thing for dialogue in FF posts and this post was one of the best I’ve read in a long time. The dialogue was crisp, snappy and it told a story in only 100 words. Whatever she did, she apparently knows she screwed up, but at the same time she seems pissed that he hasn’t found it in his heart to forgive her. Wonderful, I love this FF. Well done S.J., you done good. Muwah!!@
Fantastic FFF! I’m left wanting so much more.
Yikes. Wonder if they’ll ever get back to where they’d started, or if it’s too late for that.

Great Flasher!
Mmmm why the hate I wonder hopefully you expand and let us know
Oh my! May I please play, too? I promise to play nicely!
I only two Saturdays ago stopped a similar game on another site where I blog, only in my version, we were only allowed 55 words! My friends, and the others who played were not happy to see me stop, but now that the blogging service is ending, hey are resigned.
So how serendipitous to find a similar challenge here. 100 words should be a breeze! 🙂
So, may I please play?
Oh, and by the way, nicely done! You build the tension and the characters really well in this vignette!
