Very soon I’ll be working on the 4th book in this series. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the 3rd book.

In this tease from the opening pages, Gina is looking for something she needs and she finds it. 😀

She finished her drink, nudged the empty glass forward, and explored the room, drinking in the rich atmosphere of club members getting what they needed. The small dance floor tempted her. Several couples had a smooth groove going that matched the heavy beats pumping through the room. She thought about stepping out. A good dance always made her feel better.

Instead, she made her way through the room and stopped at the railing near the spanking benches. A quick look around and she couldn’t find a single Dom who wasn’t already working a sub’s bottom to a bright shade of pink, maybe she would head back to the dance floor.

A loud whack sounded behind her and she whipped around. A Dom stood near the wall of paddles and floggers. Actually, considering his leather pants and dark shirt, he was probably a Master. In this tease, Marcus and Gina are finally starting to clear the air. It’s a new day and Gina has just woken up. Let’s see what Marcus has planned now.

Light pushed through her lids. Could she have slept through the night? Confessing everything had wiped her out last night. She squeezed her eyes shut, wishing she hadn’t opened up. And to Marcus, of all people. He hated her before. What must he think of her now?

An ache rolled through her muscles. At least she made it to the bed. She couldn’t be wearing any clothes though because she was freezing. Had she kicked off the blanket during the night? She rolled over to reach for the blanket. A strap of some kind caught on her wrist.

“Shit.” She tugged both arms. Damn. Her other wrist was bound too. “Marcus.”

“I’m right here.” He paced back and forth at the foot of the bed, folding the covers she wanted.

“Why did you do this?”

“We need to talk.” He sat the blanket on the bench.

“I think we did plenty of that to last a lifetime yesterday.” She tugged on her restraints, testing for a weak spot, but found none. She drew up her legs. Each ankle was wrapped in a cuff but clearly not attached to anything. The change in position gave her just enough slack in the ropes. If she worked quickly…maybe.

“Are you determined to be disobedient?” He tapped her thigh with a crop.

“No, Sir.” She kept her gaze on the crop. “Is that mine?”

“Yes.” He set the crop at the end of the bed. “You were right. This place really does have everything we need.

my NaNoWriMo project. I’m currently writing the 2nd book in my Assassins and Sweethearts Series. 😀

In this tease, Aidan’s at the bar muddling over new events, mostly his recently acquired contracts, when a pretty woman comes to ask him a question.

“Excuse me.”

He turned and found a woman from the bachelorette party, the partly sober one, flashing her baby blues at him.

“We’re playing a few games tonight.” She tugged at the scarf around her neck, revealing a couple of ugly bruises. “Is it okay if I ask you a personal question?”

“That depends on what you want to know.” He knew enough about women not to give them too much rope.

“Are you wearing boxers or briefs?” Her quick blush lightened his spirits.

“That’s a question I can’t answer.” He took a sip of his beer.

“Is that so?”

He leaned in. “I’m not wearing either.”

She looked down and her eyebrows rose.

“Now, tell me what you’re wearing.”

She licked her lips, leaned in, and whispered, “I tiny scrap of lace.”

Her friends hollered and she hurried back to her table. Nothing like a beautiful woman to warm his mood. He hoped to think about that scrap of lace for the rest of the night and what it rubbed against, but he worried he’d be thinking about the bruises and the shit who put them there.

“I’ll give it to you straight. You don’t want a girl like me.” She blew out a breath as if it could help her raging pulse. Never in a million years would she have guessed she’d want a man to tell her she was wrong.

“Is that what you believe?”

“Yes.” She kept her focus on him. He gave nothing away. His expression didn’t change, only his fingers tapped on his desk which was irritatingly neat.

“Then we have a problem.” He stood. “We’d agreed to meet. I kept up my end.”

“And I didn’t.” She blew out a deep breath.

“Come here.”

She didn’t move. She didn’t take her next breath either.

He pointed to the ground in front of him. “Don’t make me ask twice.”

She jumped and then slipped around his desk. Damn, he really did smell good. No matter whether it was aftershave or him, the deep woodsy scent turned here on. Everything about Brad turned her on.

“Did I ask you to join me at Mistress Charlie’s yesterday?”

“Yes, but—”

“Do you believe I’m a liar?”

“No.”

“I don’t think you are either.” He tapped under her chin, lifting her focus back to him. “But I don’t believe you’re being honest with me right now and that’s a problem.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t show yesterday.”

“I appreciate the admission, but I can’t let the action and the attitude go unpunished.”
