Flash Fiction #57 His Stubborn Witch

Thanks for stopping. Another picture…another 100 words.

February 21, 2014

Kyra stood silent while each member of her coven said goodbye to the fleet. The farewells were common place now, but this was the first time Charles would leave her behind.

Crew members loaded supplies and children ran circles around their parents, but Kyra could hear nothing but her unspoken plea.

Forgive me. Love me.

She’d never once told him she cared. She didn’t know how much until now.

Charles stepped onto the loading dock and waved to the crowd.

“Wait!” She ran. He took a step off the platform and she fell at his feet.

“Finally, my stubborn witch.”

  1. Sj, this was a very clever plot line and I enjoyed it very much. So much going on in these few words: kids, docks, luggage, action, departures, good-byes. And I can see it all in my mind’s eye, all the action. But the focus is so artfully on the two lovers, like a magnetic spotlight pulling them both to their destiny. Wonderful teaser, just wonderful. xo

  3. Magical and suspense. Def had me holding my breathe as I read this. I wonder what will happen now that she has given herself finally to him through her plead. Where are they off to? I want to know more, this is a great story in the works. Awesome flash. 🙂

Whatcha thinking?
