This time of year is always crazy. I’m not sure how I ever survive it. As a project manager, I really should write down some lessons learned and do things differently next year.
I did find my way back to the WIP this week though and made beautiful progress. Got to love it when you can end the year on a high note. This is fabulous because I have a lot planned for 2014. I’ll talk more about that at the start of next round.
For now, let’s talk cookies. I needed to make cookies for a party and I tried something new. The recipe is by Ina Garten. It’s yummy shortbread dunked in chocolate. So good. How can any cookie with THREE sticks of butter not be good? You can find the recipe here.
Happy Holidays everyone. I hope you year ends on a high note.
The Goals – week-11 results
- Spend at least 1-hour a day with my characters- done. 🙂
- Daily progress in writing craft, word count, editing, and/or plotting-Â done! I rocked it this week. Not only did I finish edits on a tiny little story, but I also did a crit too and revised my story after receiving my first crit. While I wait on a few more crits, I’m moving right back to another WIP, Love Projects 2. You’ll be hearing a lot about this one next round. It will require the majority of my focus and will hopefully be my next release.
- Take care of and be kind to myself- done. The stress was out of control this week and won’t let up until about Monday night. So far, I am surviving it all and that makes this goal a success.
What you might have missed here this week:
Looks like you are doing awesome on your goals. The taking-care-of-you goal is the biggy this time of year. Glad you are going to de-stress. Maybe I have to simplify my goals a bit.
I brought a lot of my stress on myself this year, by putting things off and thinking others expected more than they actually did. Gotta work on that! And yeah, I got no writing done this week, but I can still hit my monthly goal. You did fantastic getting so much done – keep up the good work, and have a great holiday!
So delicious when lovely progress is made. I’m in a renewing and refilling phase, post-NaNo. The words and ideas are building inside me, and I’m giving them there space.
May your week be merry and your workload ease up, and remain calm for at least a while.
Can’t wait to hear about your 2014 plans!
Have happy holidays – always good to end on a high:) looking forward to seeing you again next year
W00t! You made it through! *throws confetti* Hope you have a great holiday!
