Six Sentence Sunday #16

Happy Six Sunday. Thanks for visiting and I’d love to know what you think!! I’m continuing this week with another 6 from my Novella WIP. Last week I left Jake watching Lydia lick the bbq lunch from her fingers. Today: the two have been talking about several things and it lead to Lydia poking Jake in the chest from some comment he has made.

Her smile disappeared when he took hold of her finger. It must have been contagious, because his face lit up. She tried to yank her finger from his grasp, but it seemed to only encourage him to increase his hold.

“Hey, you let go,” she said laughing and continued struggling to regain control over her finger. His amused expression made her giggle.

“Okay, sorry, but don’t poke me, next time I might not be willing to let go.”

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I’d like to know what you really think of my 6. I need the advice, I’m a newbie and have much to learn. Don’t forget to check out the other Six Sunday authors. Lots of good stuff at Six Sunday. Try to find a new favorite today. happy hunting!

  1. Fun 6, I love their interaction! My only suggestion would be to get rid of the speech tag and only have the action tag. Like this: “Hey, you let go.” She laughed and continued struggling to regain control over her finger.

Some say you can’t laugh and talk at the same time, so you might get dinged for that, but I’m not so convinced. I think it is possible 🙂 but this way you can bypass those folks and get rid of a speech tag at the same time 🙂

  2. Thanks you guys!!! I’ve been falling in love with these two and I think they deserve a release after the pressure cooker I’ve put them in…;) Please come back for more.

    • Thanks, Eden! Someday I hope to have a header of my own to splash at the top. Maybe a book cover…yes, the dreams are big and pretty but it will probably still be clean lines. Thanks for stopping by today.
