“You’ll look good in whatever you decide to wear, Angie.” His roommate was gorgeous, but it was her heart that healed his soul and made him fall in love with her. Too bad he could never tell her.
“That’s easy for you to say, Jack. I mean would you look at you?”
She stood there half dressed with concern evident in her dazzling eyes. “What?”
“When are you going to start dating? James and Liz left us over a year ago. At least I’m trying to move on, I think you should too.”
“Angie, I’m fine right where I am.”

oh man, wouldn’t that just be the ticket. She finally gets brave enough to ask him if he cares and she finds him taking her advice- out on a date with someone else
If read in the right tone you can feel they wan each other. You can smell the tension. I love it!

Don’t worry about it being tame. This is emotionally tight and that goes a long way. Very nice and emotionally solid and the dialogue is wonderful.

You claim that this is tame…but the emotions in it are not. I would love to see what happened to them in the past and how they survive it together in the future! Great job!

He’s fine right where he is??? No he wants to be lying there with her on top of him instead of sucking on a cig. Why can’t he tell her? This has the potential to make a great short story. Great job.
